𝙲𝚑𝚊𝚙𝚝𝚎𝚛 𝟺

" hey dad!" i say as i walk into the lab. and i see my father in his human form and sitting at his desk.

" hey Iris, are you okay?" he asks me as he comes over and hugs me.

" yeah i'm good but can i ask you something?" i say as i sir down in a chair and he sits down next to me.

" yeah what is it?" he asks.

" who is my mother?"

" uh um." he says as he plays with his hands.

" dad.. i want to know i'm old enough." i say and he looks at me rhen gets up. he goes over to his desk and pulls out a picture.

" okay.. this is her." he says as we hand me the picture. it was a picture of him and a girl with black hair, dark brown eyes, and a green jumpsuit. she was beautiful.

" what was her name?" i ask.

" Trudy." he said as he looked down. Trudy.. that's a pretty name. my father has talked about her before but never told me her name or what she looked like. i know it made him sad when we talked about her." she was something. she was very outgoing and loyal. she never backed down from what was right. i fell in love with her instantly. but then.." he paused and looked down at his hands." she passed away in the war with the sky people." he says as he sits back down. " she was pregnant with you when we found her body and we were only able to save you." he said and i wrap my arms around him and hug him tight.

" when we found out you were a girl she was so excited. she loved the name Iris because it means rainbow and we loved watching the rainbow together after a rainy day." he said. i looked at his glossy eyes and i knew he was going to cry.

" i'm sorry you didn't get to say goodbye." i say and he hugs me back.

" you remind me of her" he says as he hugs me tighter. i pull away and give him a smile.

" goodnight dad. i'll see you in the morning." i say as i get up and go to my room.

" good night kiddo." he says as goes back to being a lab rat with max. i walk i or my room and i took at my walls covered with photos of me and the Sullys. at lot of them it was me and neteyam. my father had some cameras from earth and so we took some family pictures. i put my finger on the picture to scan them. i was so happy ans young. i wish i could be that young again.
