"I'm so sorry." He sputters out.

"You should be sorry." I half yell, not even wanting to make eye contact with the popular ass, idiot, standing in front of me.

"Calm down." He replies.

"Oh,  shut up." I mimic. "You know I'm not going to listen to your 'orders'."

"I wasn't ordering you." He calmly replies, attempting to have me to sound like the raging lunatic.

"It sounded like it, maybe you should learn some word play." I told him. The crowd came around with the 'oh-s' even though I didn't say a very good comeback. Justin didn't respond. "Oh what's wrong you can't give a girl any comebacks?" I ask. Another sounding from the crowd filled the school's hallways.

"I can give girls comebacks." He replies.

"Oh, you mean the ones where you tell her 'sorry I cheated on you, but she's actually much better than you ever were.'" I say.

"Are you calling me a player?" He asks, but he should already know that answer.

"Yeah, I am calling you a player" I respond. Yet another sound from the crowd gave in to the conversation.

"I have only had one girlfriend." He responds, trying to make me sound like the lunatic again.

"Yeah, one girlfriend that you cheated on. Right, Melissa?" I turn around to face Melissa, who was standing behind me in the crowd.

"Yeah" she replies, crossing her arms over her chest.

"Right, Britney?" I went to face Britney, the girl Justin used to cheat on Melissa.

"Yeah." Britney responds, placing one hand on her hip. I turn back to face Justin with a small smirk  while crossing my arms over my chest as Melissa had done. What are you going to do now, Justin?

"I'm not talking to you anymore." He says as he backs away with his hands up.

"Because you're not going to win." I reply. Yet another sound of 'oh' from the crowd made me look like I won. With that, I quickly turn around before he can say anything more, and start to walk fast, with Melissa and Britney following.

Once we were all out of sight we got together in a small semi-circle. I lean against the wall. It's very pressurizing to trash talk a popular guy, that everybody likes, with a bunch of other high school people standing around you. My heart was beating fast.

"Thanks." Britney was the first to speak. I nod my head as a 'you're welcome'.

"Gosh, he is such a jerk." Melissa points out, stating the obvious. Britney and I nod in agreement.

"I don't understand how you guys can hang out together after sharing the same guy." I state, trying to get somewhat off the topic.

"Oh please, the only reason we hang out together is because of that fact." Melissa responds.

"But you shared him."

"Who cares?" Britney asks.

"But, you don't find that disturbing? That you've both seen him?" I ask. I'm a sophomore what else should I say with my friends?

"Trust me he's hot." Melissa stats,  Britney and I glare at her. "Wait, what?" She comes to a slow realization.

"Ugh." Britney bellows breaking the circle and leads Melissa and I over to  the cafeteria and one of the lunch tables.

We sit down at a table close to the window and a nice bright light comes in from the window and I sit to face it. Even though it was lunch, I'm not all that hungry (big breakfast), but I still pull out my peanut butter and jelly sandwich on  wheat bread. As I take my first bite and Britney and Melissa get their lunch out too, I stare out the window. It's winter and there's snow everywhere. I hate winter partly because I'm a summer kind of girl.

"I know right." I heard Britney say. Melissa and Britney are my two of best friends. Britney was, even before they found out Justin was cheating on his well known girlfriend, Melissa and dating her too. After Melissa found out, she and Britney became the best of friends and Melissa started to hang out with Britney and us more than the popular people.

By us,  I mean my other best friend, Patricia. She isn't at school because she's already visiting her family in Ireland. Melissa, Britney, Patricia, and I are one group together.

"So got any plans for winter break?" Melissa asks, breaking my train of thought.

"I'm going to Scandinavia." Britney says.

"I'm not really going anywhere. What about you Melissa?" I said.

"I'm going to England." Melissa replies.

"That's cool." I say.

Today was the last day of school before winter break. I'm not too excited. I usually always stay home during the breaks that we get throughout the school year. With another bite of my sandwich in my mouth, I remember.

"Oh my gosh I forgot, I have to go to Mrs. Nicholson for my test!" I say with my mouth full, standing up and backing away. I chew nervously on the bite of my sandwich as I gather my backpack and stray books.

" Oh, yeah. Good luck, babe." Melissa says as I turn around. "Aren't you gonna eat this?" I turn back around.

"Uh, no. You eat it. I gotta go." I say before speeding over to the door.

"Bye, then." Britney calls after me before I get out of the cafeteria. Once I was out the door, I bolt down the hallway, not really looking at my surroundings (I know exactly where this class is). When I shoot around the corner of the hallway, I accidentally bump into someone and books go flying.

"I'm so sorry." I tell them.

"You should be sorry." The person says with a chuckle. It sounds too familiar. I look up to find that I bumped into Justin, who was grinning.

I bend down to pick up my books and his. Once giving them back he wraps his arm around my waist and pulls me toward him, with a half smile that's supposed to win me over.

"Get off me." I tell him as I push at his chest.

"How about no?" He sarcastically asks.

"How about yes." I demand

"I don't think that's gonna be necessary." He said, smiling an even wider smile than before, pulling me closer to him.

"I have a test to go to." I said monotonously, trying to push him away. When this doesn't work I say, "and I'm really late."

"You're lying." He says. With no other choice, I lift my leg and knock him in the shin, hard enough so he'll stop hitting on me.

Justin does let go, but not long enough. And then I'm up against the lockers. "Look," He says. "I know you love me. Just admit it."

I don't respond immediately, but slowly and silently unscrew my water bottle cover that's on the side of my bag. "I don't love you."

"Then what? Like me?"

"No." I respond. "I... I..." He smirks.

Then, with extreme quickness I pull the water bottle out of the pocket on the bag and splash it all over his face and shirt. "I hate you."

I smirked at him and screwed the bottle cap back on as he shook the water off his arms. I slip the green water bottle back into it's pocket and walk away.

When I do, I see a lot of people who definitely witnessed what happened. I knew it was going to get around to everyone  very quickly. But, I force myself to ignore them for now and get to my test that I'm fifteen minutes late for. And I only have twenty minutes left of lunch.
