Katerina P.O.V
I looked over to Wednesday and her mother, not surprised to see them here, and by the looks of it, they were negotiating. I observed their facial expression to see surprise cross Wednesday's mother's face and confusion in Wednesday's eyes. "I came here with a letter from Alexandria, sir." I took a letter out from my purse and walked to the mayor holding the letter out for him to take. He takes the letter, ripping the seal off. He unfolds the paper and begins to read it out loud.

Dear Mayor Walker,

I have heard you've been causing trouble in my absence and I've only been gone for a short time. I heard your holding charges against me and Gomez Addams, charges that have been dropped a long time ago. The Death of Garrett Gates. Katerina has informed me of everything that's been going on as of late. I'm guessing Wednesday and Morticia are already in your office which means one of two things: they are going to stay in jail for grave digging or have found proof that Garrett Gates was killed by nightshade that night which you covered up with the person doing the autopsy. You're probably wondering, how do I know this? Well, let's just say I did my own little autopsy.

The Mayor looks at me with an accusing glare. "Harboring a criminal is against the law. Do you know how much trouble you'll be in?" All I do is smile at him, gesturing for him to keep on reading.

But my question is what would the people do once they find out and especially with your re-election around the corner, if I'm not mistaken covering up a case is up
to three to nine years in state prison and there's the whole issue of you ignoring our complaint about Garrett's stalking Morticia which we could sue you for and the whole police department. But I have better things to do than sue you, but that doesn't mean the people in this room can't. Now you're going to drop the charges and apologize to Wednesday and her family immediately for ruining family weekend and making a scene in front of the whole school and if you don't then everyone will find out what really happened that night and I'll make it my personal job to make your life a living hell. You've seen what I can do with the snap of my fingers so don't test me. Now if you excuse me I have to end the letter here. I have more important matters to attend to.

P.s. Katerina, love, I should be home soon. I need to take care of some things.

I

can feel their stares burrowing into my head, especially Wednesday's questioning one. The Mayor turns a sickly pale when he reads the letter. He clears his throat getting everyone's attention. "I will see to it that your father will be released im-imediately and drop any and a-all charges on them." The mayor mutters out trying to compose himself of the threat Lexa made about suing him or just trying to compose himself from the letter. The mayor began to call someone but I didn't stick around. I turn around walking away from them.

I walk down narrow steps sitting down on a park bench by the entrance of the town hall waiting for Wednesday and her family to come out. Wednesday and her mother walk out walking to the road. I let them have their mother-and-daughter moment knowing they need it. Watching them reminds me of my mother, her ocean blue eyes and sandy blond hair flowing in the wind. I let a sad smile filling a tear slip down my cheek but I wipe it away when I hear the door open feeling dread come over me already knowing who's at the entrance. My father and Wednesday's father I try ignoring my father's voice trying to stay strong like his presence doesn't bother me but hearing his voice makes my hand shake and my body tense. I look ahead watching cars pass by, calming me down enough to where i don't not as tense, but the feeling of someone watching me catches my attention. I look to my left making eye contact with Wednesday's dark brown orbs as she makes her way toward me.
