As the three of us left the tent, I couldn't help but feel a mixture of excitement and nervousness. We were being guided by Yeniz, the wolf shifter who had introduced himself as the general's main assistant and bodyguard.
"So, Yeniz," Tal asked, breaking the silence. "Where are you taking us?"
"To the training grounds," Yeniz replied, his voice gruff and deep. "You'll get to see some of the men in action."
As we walked, Yeniz continued to lead the way, his keen senses guiding him through the dense forest. Suddenly, we emerged from the trees, and I saw a group of men gathered in a large open field, swords clashing against one another while others use their elemental energy.
Yeniz approached one of the trainers and spoke in a low voice. "These are the potential newcomers," he said, gesturing to us. "The general has asked that you watch and report back on what you see." The trainer has pale skin, white hair, and striking reddish eyes, his ears are a bit pointy, and he has a slim build.
The trainer nodded, taking a quick glance at the three of us and putting his focus back on yenzi.
"Great," he grunted. "Not only am I dump with newbies I'm also dump with children to babysit."
Yeniz grinned. " stewart, don't be like that. I thought you could use some more company."
The man Yenzi just called Stewart, rolled his eyes. "You just love making my job harder, don't you?"
Yeniz chuckled. "What can I say? I like to keep you on your toes."
The three of us exchanged nervous glances. I don't need that twin connection to know that we all could sense the tension between Yenzi and Stewart, but they didn't want to get caught in the middle. That was when I realize that we were being watch by a large group. Murmur all around us as though we were at the center of attention, but I knew better. all eyes are on Yenzi and stewart.
"Boys" Yeniz calls out to regain our focus. "This is Stewart, he is one of the Elemental trainer"
"Nice to meet you, Stewart," I said, trying to break the awkward tension.
Stewart simply nodded at us before turning to Yeniz. "So what are these 'potential' newbies supposed to do?"
Yeniz rubbed his hands together, a mischievous glint in his eye. "Well, two of them are water users while one of them can't even access their own energy, Stewart. See if you can toughen them up a bit."
"You can't be fucking serious. Which one can't access their own energy." Stewart grinds his teeth together "WELL!?" Tal and Ober both fall under pressure pointing their fingers towards me. "Of course" Stewart let out a sigh, clearly not thrilled with the idea. "Fine, I'll take them on. But don't expect me to go easy on them."
Yeniz smirked. "Wouldn't dream of it."
With that being said Yenzi walk off. Everyone seemed to have gone back to what they were doing earlier. Even so I can still feel eyes on us. I glanced around trying to spot the heavy eyes. That was when I realize that we were being watch by a large group that was standing behind us.
Stewart approached us, his eyes scanning our faces and bodies. "What are your names?" he asked, his tone unimpressed.
Tal stepped forward confidently. "I'm Tal," He said, His fists clenched at his sides.
Stewart raised an eyebrow. "Tal, huh?" he said, circling around us. "Interesting nickname. What's your real name?"
He seems to have hesitated for a moment, before deciding to play along. "Talon," He replied, meeting his gaze steadily.
