As her relationship progressed with Rachel, Quinn felt more and more trepidation with her feelings. She could feel the growing, she didn't want to say love, but that was what it was, and it scared the living crap out of her.
Quinn knew it was a possibility, falling in love, when she started dating Rachel. Hell if she was being honest with herself she knew falling in love with Rachel was inevitable when she first saw her perform on the Disney stage.
Quinn had never told someone she loved them. Never being able to trust someone completely like that. Once you told someone you loved them you were completely vulnerable to them. Quinn had spent so much time protecting herself from people, and in turn protecting her daughter. So what now?
"Quinn!" Rachel called from the living room. They were supposed to be preparing to go over to Puck's place. Quinn had been caught up in her thoughts.
"Yeah. I'm coming!" Quinn called back, adjusting her make up in the mirror.
"Hey, you okay?" Rachel asked, stepping into the bedroom. Quinn smiled tightly at her and nodded, not wanting to open up about how she was feeling quite yet. Especially not before their weekly gathering at Puck's.
"Yeah, I'm fine." Quinn said, and even she wasn't convinced. Rachel raised an eyebrow in question, stepping closer to her girlfriend so she could place her chin on her shoulder. Rachel smiled at her through the reflection, winding her arms around Quinn's waist from behind.
"We can talk about it later. Everyone is waiting." Quinn assured her girlfriend, and even though Rachel didn't look all that convinced, she let it go.
"You look beautiful." Rachel told Quinn instead. It was moments like these, that Quinn understood why she was falling for the petite girl. And that scared her.
Quinn did pursue Rachel after all, she should have seen this coming, falling for her, but she did not see it happening this fast.
"Mom! Rachel! You better not be kissing, I'm coming in!" Beth called out from somewhere in the house. Rachel shook her head and laughed, taking Quinn's hand and turning to face the bedroom door. Beth walked in with both hands over her eyes.
"Is it safe?" Beth asked cautiously, Santana standing right behind her looking slightly smug. The Latina loved the fact that Beth teased Rachel and Quinn almost as much as she did.
"Yes it is, you silly girl." Rachel laughed, walking over to Beth and removing the little girls hands from her face. Rachel stuck her tongue out at Beth, teasing the little girl. Beth returned the gesture.
"Let's get moving! I'm starving!" Santana waved them over dramatically. Beth giggled at this, turning to look over at Santana.
"You're always hungry!" Beth told her. Santana glared mockingly at the girl.
"Yeah well, you're annoying." Santana shot back. Quinn couldn't help but laugh at the poor comeback.
"You're starting to sound like an 8 year old." Santana shot a real glare at Quinn, the blonde wasn't fazed by it though. She was used to getting at least three of them before breakfast.
They all headed out to the car, Rachel and Beth leading the way. Quinn and Santana stay back, neither of them too keen on skipping.
"God they're so adorable. I want to puke." Santana grimaced as if she might actually puke. Quinn rolled her eyes at her roommate, used to her dramatic behavior. Seriously, this girl had the nerve to call Rachel dramatic.
"So have you talked to Finnept since...?" Santana let her question trail off, there really is no need to name the event. Quinn shook her head at the Latina with a sigh.
