I looked down at the tiny piece of paper in my hand. It was my first fortune cookie of the year, and just like always, I had nothing but bad fortune.
The fortune cookies were never wrong, no matter how bad the message in them was. Ever since I was a little girl I had experienced nothing more than bad fortune.
I sighed and tossed the paper in the bin.
