I woke the next morning with a yawn. I stretched and looked around the barn, then said, "Morning, Trixie."

I looked at the bed beside mine. Trixie wasn't there.

"Trixie? Trix? Nut-thrower?" I called. No response. Where could she be? Had she left without saying goodbye?

I walked out of the barn, closing the wooden door behind me. "Trixie!" I yelled.

"Fletcher! You're awake!" It was Patil. She was standing with her brother Kingsly and Trixie. The three caterpillars appeared to be standing by a mailbox made from leaves and twigs. Some berry juice on the side of the box read, "The Forest Farms."

I crawled over to them and yawned. Kingsly appeared to be holding something in his feet that looked to be of great importance.

"Hey, sleepyhead! You're hair is in knots," Trixie teased.

"Ugh, how bad is it?" I asked.

"Beyond bad. You look like an overgrown bush."

"Hey!" I laughed along woth Trixie.

I turned to Kingsly and Patil. "What's going on?"

"It we got a letter in the mail last night," Kingsly said, showing me the letter that he was holding. It was wrapped in a leaf envelope.

"Who's it from?" I asked.

"We don't know. But it seems important," Patil nodded.

"Open it!" Trixie and I exclaimed at the same time.

Slowly, Kingsly began to tear the envelope open. Patil, Trixie and I peered over him with excitement.

Kingsly almost dropped the letter in shock.

"What? What is it?" Patil asked, worried.

"It... It's from... It's from Hermy!" Kingsly smiled.

"Oh, Kingsly! Making me worried for nothing!" His sister sighed with relief.

"Hermy? The Hermy?" I asked. "The traveller? The one who claims he's seen monsters?"

"That would be the one. He's the only Hermy around these parts." Patil said.

"Oh! Oh! What does the letter say, Kingsly?" Trixie seemed excited.

"Well.... It says: Dear Kingsly and Patil- I am happy to let you know that I am traveling near your section of the forest quite soon, and being the traveller that I am, I will need someplace to stay. Being that you both have always been nice and caring towards me before, I am assuming you'll let me visit again. Just letting you know in advance that I am coming. Sincerely, Hermy the Traveller."

"Hermy is visiting! I haven't seen him in ages!" Trixie exclaimed.

"Well, Hermy does travel fast! We're going to set up another bed in the barn! Who knows when he'll get here!" Patil told is.

"My sister's right. We need to get ready!" Kingsly agreed.

"Anything I can do to help?" I asked the siblings.

"It would be great if you and Trixie could help me inside the house and cook dinner. We've got quite a few mouths to fee tonight, thank goodness we have a lot of crops that Kingsly harvested yesterday!" Patil smiled.

"Okay. Fletcher and I will help," Trixie nodded.

Trixie and I followed Patil into the house. I was really looking toward to this evening.
