Mysterious events of Dayten, Ohio

My name is Oliver, I'm 17 and i'm from a small town in northern Ohio. I'm writing this because i'm in a strange predicament and i need help. The thing about Dayten is than nothing ever happens here, it's a desolate, small town and everyone knows each other. It's relatively calm, except for what happened 2 days ago.

The night sky was ablaze with a meteor shower. It was a breathtaking sight, and people all over the town were outside , recording and watching as the fireballs streaked across the sky. At the time i was at my friend terry's house. He just got a PS5 and we'd been enjoying gaming in the new console. But around 9 P.M., as the meteors began to dissipate, something else began to happen. Strange lights appeared in the sky, hovering and pulsing in an unnatural rhythm.

At first, people thought it was a hoax, a trick of the light or some kind of elaborate stunt. But as the lights grew brighter and more intense, it became clear that something was happening - something beyond human understanding. I had started heading home in the middle of this, i needed to see my family.

The first signs of trouble came from the animals. Dogs barked and howled in the distance, while birds took flight, their wings beating a frantic rhythm. There was an energy in the air, a sense of anticipation mixed with fear.

And then, suddenly, the lights began to descend. They came closer and closer, until they were hovering just above the treetops. People watched in awe and terror as shapes began to emerge from the lights - shapes that were not of this world. Gigantic figures that were as tall as trees, with long string-like arms. By their feet there were normal sized beings, who seemed to be controlling them.

At first, they were barely visible - shimmering, translucent beings that seemed to float in the air. But as they came closer, their forms solidified, and it became clear that these were not friendly visitors.

The beings were tall and thin, with elongated limbs and glowing white eyes. They moved with an otherworldly grace, gliding effortlessly through the air. And as they descended to the ground, a sense of foreboding descended over the town. Panicking, i snuck and hid in the cellar of an abandoned house on my street and watched through the window.

People ran in all directions, screaming and shouting, but it was too late. The beings had arrived, and they were not here for peaceful purposes. They began to move among the crowds, grabbing people with their spindly fingers and pulling them towards the light.

Those who were taken vanished without a trace, their screams echoing in the darkness. The electricity started going out in other houses on the street and soon the streetlights as well. It was pitch black, and all i could hear was screaming and otherworldy gargling noises. I laid down in the dusty cellar, and eventually passed out.
When i woke up that morning i looked out the window and everything was..... fine. No destruction, bodies, anything.

I ran home as fast as i could, and was greeted at the door by my mother. "Hey olly", she said "Did you have fun at terry's?" I turned and looked, and i froze.
This isn't my mother. She ushered me to the kitchen table for breakfast, without saying much of anything, and i sat. My dad and my brother came in, both of them not the people i remember. I am currently in my room, writing this and asking for help. There are 10 people outside, staring at our house, and they haven't blinked in hours. My family is at the door, all whispering something in a low tone. Please help, what the hell happened in Dayten, ohio?
