The next day I woke up on the old dock. I still felt like garbage. The amount of guilt that I was feeling immense. So I did the only responsible thing that I could. Stay right there and ignore everyone and everything. At some point Kie and Pope came out to see me and planted their butts besides me. "How you holding up, champ?" I threw a rock into the water. "Why did you propose that JB should go live with the Camerons?" I threw another rock into the water and sighed. "Don't you know that the Camerons are our biggest enemies?" "Give us an answer, AJ." I sighed once again and stopped with the rock throwing. "Because where else is he supposed to go? You guys' parents are everything except happy with us. DCS is right around the corner to get him to the main land and in to Foster Care. The only solution I could think of, were the Camerons. I understand that they can be shady, but it's better than nothing, and Ward is able to pay for those medical bills."

The both of them were silent for a few beats, the sun shining in our faces while we, well, at least I, looked out over the water. The weather was nice again after last night's storm.

Pope spoke with a softer voice than normal. "You shouldn't blame yourself for all of this AJ. You couldn't have done anything." I shook my head while Kie also spoke up. "You really like Sarah Cameron, don't you?" I silently nodded my head. "I'm sorry for being so harsh. I just want to look out for you." "Yeah, I know. Thanks Kie." I put my arms around the both of them and hugged them. They went home afterwards.

I took about 30 minutes until Sarah Cameron came.

When she got here, she carefully sat down besides me, her side touching my side. She didn't say anything. She just sat down in the quietest of ways possible, waiting for me to feel ready to talk.

And eventually I did. "Everywhere I go, something bad happens. That day on the mainland with you was one of the best days of my life, as soon as we got back, everything went right back to shit. I mean, JJ and I almost killed our dad, Sarah." I reached into my pocket and started to smoke a pre-rolled blunt that I had forgotten about. I brought it uo to my lips, out my lighter to the end of the blunt and lit it aflame, inhaling the toxins.

Sarah leaned ger head on my shoulder. "I'm sorry about everything that goes down for you, but last night was not your fault. It was Topper's and John B decided to protect you on his own accord." I just want to escape reality for a moment. "Talking about him, he's safe?" I felt her head nod on my shoulder. "Yeah. He's now living with us. He's in good condition, considering that high of a fall." I nodded my head.

"Does he blame me?" "No. He wouldn't blame you for that, AJ." "You never know." Sarah and I continued to sit in silence until the whole gang suddenly showed up, including John B. "So much for peace." Sarah smiled at me. "Do you want me to go?" I shook my head. "No, but I do think that it's a pogue meeting do you'll have to." She nodded her head and we shared a sweet kiss and she left.

I finished my blunt and stood up to greet my friends. I greeted everyone normally and then made eye contact with John B. "Look, I'm sorry JB." He raised his eyebrow. "What are you sorry for? You have done nothing wrong." We smiled at each other and I hugged him. "I thought that he killed you man."

A little while later and we were in a restaurant. I had brought the map with me and I could look at it for as long as I wanted to. "I don't understand a single piece of this map." "The guy was ganja wgen he drew it." "I'm ganja right now so you'd think I'dbe able to ganja out the ganja, but it just makes it more ganja." "It's actually because the coast has changed." "Oh." Well, how should I have known? I hate maps. "So we just have to look for landmarks tuat haven't changed." I didn't understand what was going on, so I just let them figure it out cuz the others looked like they actually knew what they were doing. I zoned out.
