Chapter 5 - The Aftermath

Third person pov

  Shortly thereafter, Tachi was walking towards a nearby hospital, only to collapse at the receptionist's desk on the floor, much to the horror of both the receptionist and the people around him. He was eventually rushed to the emergency room.

  A few days later, Naoko, Haruki, Chihiro, and Atsumu, alongside Tachi's younger brother, Taka, came to the hospital to see Tachi, who was now recovering from his stab wound made by Yami.

Once they open the door, Taka rushed to his older brother, and asked him if he was okay.

  "I'm okay, Taka-kun," Tachi reassured to him. "I'll be fine."

  "Are you okay, Tachi-senpai?" Naoko asked him.

  "Yes, Naoko-kun. And I'm sorry for making fun of you. It's just I'm so frustrated and desperate for money, that's all. Yami nearly killed me for that."

  "That's alright, Tachi-senpai. Wait, Yami-kun did what?"

  "Literally! He stabbed me almost to death while being tied up at the basement."

  "Why would big brother do that?" Haruki asked in concern.

  "So scary," Chihiro commented as well.

  "For real?" Atsumu asked with skepticism.

  "Yes," Tachi replied back honestly.

Then, a doctor came to the room holding a clipboard full of the patients' records.

  "Doc, is this one gonna be okay?" Naoko asked him immediately.

  "Well, his liver was damaged by a stab wound," the doctor responded back while looking at the records, "and he nearly lost a quarter of his blood, so he needed a blood transfusion and an organ transplant. Luckily, we found the compatible donors for this."

  "Really, doc?" Taka replied back in concern. "Is big brother gonna be alright?"

  "Yes, kid," the doctor reassured to him, "your big brother is going to be alright."

  "I see. Thanks."

But, Naoko became suspicious of Yami's motive behind it and decided to talk to him by Friday. He wasn't a big fan of confrontation though.

  So, by Friday at lunch time, Naoko went to the school rooftop, carrying a bento lunch, to confront Yami because of what he did to Tachi.

  "Yami-kun," he said to him.

Upon turning around, Yami responded back positively, "Oh, hey, Naoko-kun, how are you? Are you here to eat lunch? Let's eat lunch here together."

Going closer to him, Naoko asked, "What did you do to Tachi-senpai?"

  "Oh, that?" Yami responded, pretending to be innocent. "I just teach him a lesson for messing with you."

  "Do you realize what did you just done?"

  "What?"

"You could've killed him! Did you realize that?"

  "Uh, no?"

Eventually, Naoko cooled down and replied, "I can't do this because you were my friend."
He then looked at Yami with a serious look on his face and continued, "I forgive you this time, but if you do it again, I'll report you to the police."

  "Okay then," Yami responded with agreement in a slow tone. "I promised. I won't do it again."
With that, Naoko sat down on the bench to eat his bento lunch.

  But, Yami will actually break that promise and will continue murdering anyone who will be close or be friends with Naoko.
