chapter1: welcome to Narnia
Ding dong!
Helen opened the door and saw a small letter underground, she then took the letter, she then read it
'dear helen starlight
congratulations, you are accepted as a student at the Narnia academy
.'
Her smile grew. 'I'm accepted!' She thought. She then closed the door and placed the letter onto the table, next to the other one that had arrived a while ago.
'I can't wait to start classes tomorrow!' She thought excitedly.
Then she remembered that she hadn't told anyone that she was accepted into the academy...'Oh yeah...' she thought sheepishly. She walked back to her room and sat down at the table, putting the letters back on top. Then she stared curiously at them. The one in front of her had a red wax seal with an emerald inlaid on it. 'This one is addressed to "Miss Susan" and has "Cordelia," which means that it's from Cordelia Harris.' As she studied the seal, she thought about what her best friend would write back. She knew that if she didn't respond soon, she would worry her aunt. "Oh Auntie..." Helen thought. 'Am I making the wrong decision?'
She put down the seal and grabbed the letter opener. With some difficulty, she cut open the envelope. The message inside was short and to the point.
Dear Helen,
Thank you for accepting my invitation, and thank you for writing me back so quickly. In light of your acceptance, I've taken it upon myself to inform you that you are now an official student of Narnia Academy, although I cannot guarantee that you'll stay here long enough to attend classes regularly. The school does not take students who do not wish to leave. However, we accept anyone who truly wants to join us. Please contact me directly once classes start. Your aunt, Susan Harris.
Helen smiled happily. 'Finally, I'll finally get to meet all my friends and go to class every day,' She thought. 'I can't wait to start learning about the outside world!'

It's time!" Helen shouted loudly into her mirror. She stood in front of her vanity mirror and smoothed the skirt of her dress nervously. "Don't be late," she whispered. "Or else!"
The mirror fogged up, and then a familiar face appeared, along with one that was clearly recognizable as her aunt, Susan. "Alright sweetheart." She grinned. "Relax. Everything will work out fine."
A few seconds after her aunt disappeared, a knocking came at the door. "Come in!" She called, wondering who it could possibly be.
The door swung open and her mother stepped through, smiling brightly. "Hello dear. Did I catch you at a bad time?"
Helen shook her head. "No, no, mom," she answered as she turned around and fixed her hair. "Are you ready to go?"
Susan nodded. "Yep, let's get going." She held up her hand, and three sparkles flew into it. "Here," She said, handing one of them to Helen. "Put this on, and I'll send you to Narnia."
Helen glanced down at her dress, frowning. "Mom, I really don't think it's necessary-"
"Honey, please. Just humor me. Trust your mom."
With reluctance, Helen put the sparkling on. It felt strange, almost cold. But then, just as abruptly as the glitter appeared on her body, it vanished. She gasped lightly, feeling rather disoriented.
"There we are," her aunt said. "Now you're ready."
Helen sighed heavily, looking down at herself. Her outfit consisted of a black turtleneck dress, a green cardigan sweater over it, a dark green belt wrapped around her waist, and brown long skirt. Her white shoes also matched the pants. "Do I look okay?" She asked anxiously. "Will these fit?" She fidgeted with the buttons on her shirt nervously.
"Of course they will, they're perfect," Susan replied reassuringly. "Besides, there's no reason for you to be uncomfortable. You look great."
Helen frowned. She still wasn't entirely convinced. "But-"
"Now come on," her mother said, cutting her off. "Let's get going before you miss the train."
Helen followed her mother out of the apartment complex and towards the subway entrance. A woman walked in front of them, wearing a black coat with long sleeves and long black boots. Helen stared at her with fascination. The woman's clothes were elegant and beautiful-the kind of clothes Helen's mother would probably wear. She wondered briefly if the woman's clothing was tailored, then decided she probably shouldn't question it. But she did wonder if this woman was an actual vampire. She was gorgeous; even dressed in such casual clothes, she seemed to glow with energy. She must not have been human, because humans don't usually glow in such a manner. Helen continued to stare after her, her curiosity getting the better of her. Why does she have the same clothes as me?
"Helen?"
She jumped slightly at her mother's sudden voice.
"for you, dear" Susan give her a key . "Open the gate."
Helen looked puzzled for a few moments, until she realized that Susan meant the gate to the subway station, she reached forward and gently touched the handle. Nothing happened. "Maybe someone forgot to close the gate," Helen suggested.
Her mother shrugged nonchalantly. "Well, it wouldn' hurt to ask." She pulled out another key, this time gold and silver, and inserted it into the lock, turning it gently until she heard the soft click. "See," she said, gesturing at the opening before her daughter. "Go ahead, go. We don't want to lose our connection to you and you don' want to lose us." She smirked teasingly.
"Oh, shut up, Mom. You never liked having to talk to me during our meetings. I know." Helen stuck her tongue out at her mother before she opened the gate and slipped inside. She immediately felt a rush of excitement, which made her giddy with delight. "This is amazing!" she exclaimed, turning around and grinning happily at her parents. "We're gonna have the coolest time ever!"
Susan nodded with a grin. "That's the idea! Now, why don't you show me where we need to go next?" She motioned toward the train station.
Helen'n nodded eagerly, then pointed towards the ticket window. "Look!" she said with excitement, pointing at the number 9 painted above the glass, "I got the 9 train!" She then ran to the windowside to find the number and then returned to her mother.
Susan laughed warmly. "You definitely got the right 9 train Helen! And the conductor says it's going to take ten minutes until the 9 is ready to depart. So, I guess we should get comfortable." She took Helen's hand again and led her into a seat near the edge of the car. They sat side by side, their shoulders touching as they watched the scenery outside change in rapid succession.
'Wow...' Helen thought. 'My first real ride on a train. This is the coolest thing ever!' She grinned, staring out the window.
After a while, she noticed that her mother had fallen asleep, resting her head against the window. After seeing that, Helen slowly removed her hand from her mom's grip and placed it on her lap. 'Mom looks tired too.' She thought sadly. 'I hope she gets a good rest.' The thought gave her a sense of comfort. She leaned her head against the window, closing her eyes as well.
* * * * *
After a short nap, Helen woke up and looked around. They were standing in front of a large wooden gate that stretched out in either direction like two giant arms. She saw a sign hanging beside the gate that read: NARNIA ACADEMY. She couldn't tell how high the fence surrounding the grounds was, but the gate didn't seem very sturdy. She looked back towards her mother. "Mom, we're here," she said softly.
Susan stirred awake and looked up. "Huh? Oh, sorry sweetie," She yawned, stretching her arms. "Guess I fell asleep."
Helen giggled slightly. "It's alright," she assured. "I understand." Then, she turned to face the gate. "Where do we go now?"
"Ah," Susan said, suddenly remembering something. She took out her wand from a small pocket in her coat and waved it in a slow circle, muttering under her breath. "Portus," She whispered. "Portus." Once she finished speaking, she pointed the tip of her wand in front of herself, holding it straight out in front of her. "Expecto patronum," she commanded calmly.
A bright flash shot from Susan's wand, shooting towards the gate, the gate opens by itself . When it faded away, an enormous stag appeared in its place. Its fur glowed in the sunlight, reflecting brilliantly against the snow. "Whoa! How cool!" Helen said, clapping her hands together excitedly.
"since,we arrived, mother and aunt can only get here, don't worry there will be someone to guide you about in this school's environment" Susan said.
"Okay," Helen said, nodding in understanding. Suddenly, the gates began moving apart. She watched curiously as it opened to reveal a big castel. "hiya new kid!" The voice startled her slightly, though not too much. "what's yer name?" The voice asked.
Helen glanced sideways at her mother, noticing the amused smile on her face. 'She knows him too.' "My name's Helen," she told him, taking a step closer.
The stag smiled. "well, i' m the Ace" he told her.
Helen giggled. "Hi Ace."
