I suddenly awoke to my maid Maria waking me up by opening my curtains "Good morning Your Highness" she says as she gets out my outfit for the day (at the top) "Good morning Maria, Any mail today?" I say as I get out of bed. "No mam, but your mother has requested you this morning and what jewellery do you want today" she says opening my jewellery box. Huh thats weird "did she tell you why and can I have the pearl set today" (at the bottom of the chapter).
Once I am ready and my hair is styled into a neat bun (at the bottom of the chapter) I walk down the halls to my mothers sitting room. My mother is the current Queen of Denmark and Norway Sophie Magdalene of Brandenburg-Kulmbach unfortunately that makes me Princess Alice Nora Violet of Denmark and Norway, daughter of Christian VI. I have always been in the spotlight as the youngest daughter and has been ignored when it comes to the marriage market but now that my brother and sister has been married the attention is on me finally. I have been preparing myself for the day my parents announce I will be getting married. Ive been learning Spanish ,Russian and French because those have the only age appropriate options.
As I walk into my mother sitting room I see her and my father sitting on the couch holding a letter in his hand. "Hi Mother, Father" my dad just nods hes a man of not many words and My mum responds "Hi Alice". I ask "why did you ask to see me?" my parents look at each other then look at me and my father says "You are to be married to-" I interrupt him "who??" "as i was saying you will be married to Peter the 3rd" my eyes widen as I say "but isnt he married to Catherine" Me and Catherine (she was sophie at the time) were childhood friends when our parents would visit each other "She was executed 3 weeks ago because she was planning a coup against him and he needed to get rid of her for the good of russia and as he doesnt have a legitimate heir he needs a new wife" it is a shock to me that my dear friend has passed away but not surprising that she was planning a coup.
I wonder how peter will be as a husband??
