Umar looked blankly at the second-hand shop window in dismay. "Seriously bro why buy a camera from here?" He asked his best mate, Daniel.
Daniel rolled his eyes at Umar before entering the shop.
'Ding' the bell went as the boys entered, A old man probably in his 50's stood behind the counter with his back towards them unloading a box onto the shelves behind him "Excuse me sir but, um do you have any cameras?" Asked Daniel trying to be polite.
He needed this camera for his photography assignment but he had spent all the money his dad gave him on a Quad-bike so he was trying to get the most cheapest one he could find.
The man turned around, his face looked as if the life had been dragged right out of it, A patch was over his left eye it seemed as if something had scratched him, his Nose was slightly crooked and his lips had no colour.
Umar nudged Daniel trying to tell him that now was the time to leave before the old bloke started telling them his sob story about the 'old days'.
"A camera 'ey? Course I got a Cam'ra but are 'ya lads up to the price?" Daniel raised his eyebrow and said "How much do you want?" The Man started to laugh as if someone had told him the world's funniest joke.
Umar and Daniel looked at each other "This one's loony" Umar whispered to Daniel, Daniel nodded with agreement. "The stuff I sell 'er at Mr.Redrum's isnt Ordinary" the man's face looked serious, "This junk is free of charge but once you buy I won't NEVER take 'em back."
The man walked to a shelf and picked up an odd looking camera, it looked kind of like the Canon 60D as the man headed over to give it to Daniel, Umar thought he had saw one of the dolls from the shelf move His eyes bulged out, the doll had just turned to him and was that a smile that formed on her ragged old face?! 'Shut up man get yourself together it's just a stupid doll' Umar thought, He shivered he felt a chill run down his spine, Umar's throat went dry and then he heard a little girl say 'yes a doll I may be but stupid did you say? That you will see' the girl's voice was invading his thoughts Umar felt sweat drop from his forehead, he felt a pinch as if he was getting poked by pins.
Did that doll just communicate with him? Woah now he was out of his mind "Yo D-dan I'm gonna.. im going to get some fresh air Yh I'll wait for you outside." Daniel laughed as he said " Yeah bro go chill outside you look as if you've seen a ghost" Umar Headed towards the door without looking behind he rushed and left as fast as he could.
"Here you go son, but ya better watch your back the spirits will be with you" the Old man warned Daniel smiled as he took the Camera "No prob I don't believe ghosts anyway." Daniel gave the man a fiver as a tip and walked out to meet up with Umar. As Daniel Left the Man grinned and his eyes began to twinkle, his Tongue flicked before he blew out the candles and turned the sign in the window around to 'CLOSED'.
Daniel Jogged over to Umar who was blowing a bubble with his chewy whilst texting on hiphone. "BOO!" Daniel shouted, Umar's bubble popped over his face "Haha very funny bro" said Umar sarcastically as he wiped off the chewing gum.
Deep thoughts filled Daniel's mind about the old man, the doll that made Umar shiver, the akward stuff inside the shop, an Ouija board, a glass of eyeballs, a old tattered book, a broomstick that looked like it had been used more than just to sweep dirt, a old pot that reminded him of a - "Daniel!" Umar shouted interrupting Daniel's thoughts "Bro didn't you hear me Man, are you daydreaming?!" Daniel looked up at Umar who was now holding his Camera, "Look at this" Umar showed Daniel a picture that had came out of his camera, it was a dark figure devouring something that looked like meat, The picture looked as if it was taken in hiding, someone's thumb was covering the left side of the picture. "WTF is that?!" Daniel exclaimed " I dunno" Umar said "But there's more." Daniel took the camera from Umar's hands and looked through the lens, it looked pretty much like a normal camera "maybe that's photoshopped or something " Daniel took a picture of a pretty daisy that was growing near by, "it works good." Daniel said to Umar, They both shrugged their shoulders and carried on walking. Behind them the daisy had withered and it seemed as if the life had been sucked right out of it..
