I left behind the mountains and the chill,
My hometown's winter wonderland still,
Now in a bustling city I reside,
No mountains in sight, no frosty tides.
The lakes I loved, crystal clear,
Replaced by concrete and smoggy air,
No frozen shores, no snowball fights,
Just hot summers, humid and bright.
I miss the peace, the quiet calm,
Of my hometown's streets, free from the swarm,
The street food, oh how I long,
For the flavors that once belong.
My parents' home, my mom's big garden,
Fresh fruits and veggies, nothing's pardoned,
Wherever I go, my heart will stay,
In my hometown, so far away.
The mountains, the lakes, the winter snow,
The summer breeze that gently blows,
My hometown is my heart and soul,
A place I'll always call my own.
In the city, I'm always on the go,
Chasing after something, I don't know,
My hometown's time was peaceful and slow,
Where memories were made, and stories would flow.
I long for that sense of calm and ease,
Where I can just relax, and do as I please,
The city's rat race, it's not for me,
My hometown's simple life, I do prefer.
The city's buildings, tall and strong,
A concrete jungle, where I belong,
But the mountains in my memories still rise,
And the lake's clear waters, they mesmerize.
My hometown, it's where my heart resides,
A place where my soul truly abides,
No matter where I go, or where I roam,
My hometown will always be my home
