Chapter Four: New Discoveries

I told myself that me being in my original body this time around was somehow going to make this terrible situation better. I wonder when I'll actually be right about something? If anything the slight change in looks does nothing to fix the damage that was done.
As I laid on my bed, I pulled the soft grey blanket closer to my body, my eyes flickering to the journal that sat on the dresser five feet to my left. There was no point in even putting a thought into reading the thing. Yet, the longer I laid here the more reasons I was given to read and not read the dammed diary.
'Rose, can you come outside into the garden?' Phoebe's voice spoke slightly alarmed in my mind. 'Did something happen?' I threw the blanket to the end of the mattress, slowly getting out of the warm bed. 'I'm not sure. I'm not in any danger, it's just... You'll see when you get here.'
Confused, I made my way down the set of stairs, through the kitchen and out through the back door. I saw her figure standing inside of the green house in front of one of the three large tables with wilted plants.
"What's up?" I walked up next to her, glancing down to the dead tulip in a small pot. "Watch this." She reached her hand out lightly running the tips of her fingers along the dried-out stem. As soon as her fingers left that area, it turned green, the health spreading through the other leaves.
"You've always been able to fix plants..." I looked between her and the beautiful red and white tulip that was in perfect condition with even more confusion. "Just give it a moment." She kept her focus on the plant waiting for something to happen.
"See!" She pointed at it as the color started to fade, and it slowly went back to its shriveled state. "That is not normal, Rose. Is it my magic?" She turned to me, her face held concern, and frustration.
I stayed silent. This was definitely weird. One's magic shouldn't just... disintegrate, if you will. You cast a spell and it stays unless you die, undo it yourself, or another witch broke the spell and was more powerful. I knew for a fact that the witches wouldn't be stopping Phoebe from re-growing a flower, as they would be found out by Davina.
She wasn't dying, as I had just given her a 'checkup' last night. I checked on the babies, let my magic check her body for any poisons, curses, or just the simple symptoms of something wrong with the pregnancy in general. She was fine. I knew that for a fact. If something were indeed hurting her bad enough to reverse a spell she would know, and my magic wouldn't have missed it.
That only left her undoing it herself. Clearly she wanted it to grow, but it would reverse on its own. Holding out my hands I faced my palms up. "Let's see what's wrong." I smiled. She placed her hands in mine, and just like yesterday I checked everything.
After a few minutes I opened my eyes with a shrug. "Everything seems to be fine. Could it be something mental?" It could make sense that she was undoing it unintentionally. Sometimes when your stressed or overwhelmed things like this can happen.
"No." She shook her head. Taking her right hand out of mine, she held it up in the air. "Look what happens when I use my powers." The air around us started to swirl above her hand causing a miniature tornado. As she held it there nothing was happening. It didn't disappear, if anything I had noticed how much she had improved in her technique.
I was almost stumped until it faltered, and disappeared the exact same time I felt a pulling sensation from Phoebe's other hand. "Okay then, maybe it is me." She sighed turning her attention back to me. "What?" Her eyebrows scrunched together as she saw the slight amusement on my face.
