You had never been so excited to go to work. Well, it wasn't exactly work you were excited about, but more so the bus ride there. Obviously, you were excited about Michael. You told your friend. They didn't believe you until you showed them the receipt. Let's just say you were 20 dollars richer.
It had been 3 days since you and Michael first started talking. You had called him a few times and kept the receipt with his number on it tacked to the corkboard in your room. The two of you seemed to get along great, you liked the same music, you both had the same sense of humor, and most importantly, you both hated your jobs! Michael seemed to hate his more than you, taking every chance he could to complain about it. You didn't understand why he didn't just quit. Every time you brought up the idea of him leaving that job he always retreated on his past comments, telling you it wasn't that big of a deal. Either he was overexaggerating or he just really needed to keep that job. Either way, nothing you could say could convince him to quit.
Today, you decided you needed to up your game. Every Time you talked to him, you seemed to fall for him more and more. You assumed he felt the same way, the amount that he teased you almost seeming flirtatious. You threw on your favorite outfit, did your hair how you like it, and headed out the door. Today was the day you were gonna ask this man out to coffee. Luckily, it wasn't too cold and was starting to warm up, so you didn't need to cover up your amazing outfit with a big bulky jacket. Michael was already waiting for you at the bus stop by the time you got there. Both you and he had started to show up earlier and earlier so you had more time to talk to each other. You smiled at him as you sat down next to him.
"Hey," You looked at him.
He smiled back at you widely, "Hey, how've you been?"
"Pretty good, same old, same old. You?"
"I've been alright, a little tired though"
"Oh no, why? Are you not getting enough sleep?"
"Eh, no, not really. I keep having these nightmares. I think I'm starting to hallucinate." He laughed like he was joking, but you were pretty sure he was serious.
"Man, what? That's kinda serious dude. You sure you're okay."
He shrugged, "Yeah, I'm cool, don't worry. Just the side effects of working at a horror attraction." He smiled.
You smiled back, "Yeah, I guess so, huh?"
"God, I really am getting sick of it, though. Oh well, what are you gonna do, right?" He shrugged again. There was silence for a moment. You had started to feel butterflies welling up again. You were trying to build up the confidence to ask him to get coffee with you. You didn't even care if it was a date, you just wanted to spend time with him.
"Hey, y'know what? We should hang out sometime, we can watch a movie or something. That could be fun, yeah?" He said. He beat you to your question, though it wasn't exactly what you were hoping for.
"Oh my god, yeah that would be awesome! What movie would you wanna watch?" You smiled widely.
"Hmmm.." he seemed to think for a moment, "How about Killer Klowns From Outer Space?"
"I've never seen it,"
Michael's jaw dropped, "Whaaat! You've never ever seen that masterpiece of a movie in your life? It's so funny, bro. You'll love it." He smiled.
Just like how I love you, You thought. Had you only known him for three days? Yes. But c'mon now, you had been secretly crushing on this man for at least a month. You kept those thoughts to yourself, "Yeah, I bet I will. Unless it's a nerd movie.I bet you watch a lot of those, nerd." "Hey, I'm not a nerd, you're a nerd!" He laughed and playfully punched your shoulder.
You smiled, "At least I don't work a goofy ass job like a loser,"
"Yeah well, if I'm such a loser why do you even talk to me?" He joked.
"Well, I don't see anybody else at this bus stop."
"Yeah right, it's not my fault that I'm so perfect, you're practically in love with me!" He did an overdramatic hair flip.
You, on the other hand, turned red, "Oh, I am so not in love with you!"
"Uh huh, yeah okay. Totally, that's why you come to meet me at the bus stop everyday."
"Ugh, whatever. I think you're the one in love with me!" You smiled, mimicking his hair flip.
"Yeah? And so what if I am?" He said slyly.
Your eyes widened, "Woah, woah, woah, mister!" You stumbled over your words for a second before spitting out a jumbled-up, "That's probably just because I'm so perfect!"
He laughed, "Yeah okay, totally not in love with me. I see you, (Y/N)." He smiled. The bus pulled in in front of the bus stop and the two of you boarded, sitting in your usual seats right next to each other.
"Anyways," You started, sitting down and holding your bag in your lap, "What day do you wanna watch the movie?"
He shrugged, "Uhh, maybe Friday?"
"Two whole days away! How will I ever survive the wait!"
He laughed, "You're just gonna have to be patient!"
You laughed along then stopped and gasped, "Wait, does this totally mean I get to come over to your place?!"
Michael suddenly looked uncomfortable and a little worried, "Uh, no, could we maybe watch it at yours? I can bring the movie with me."
A weird energy settled over you, like that same feeling you got on that Birthday at Freddy's. "Yeah, yeah. Totally, that's cool. We can make popcorn and everything. What time Friday?"
"After my shift. What time do you get off?" He asked.
You tried to ignore the slowly fading feeling, "Usually around seven, I can get off earlier though."
"Alright, cool. I don't think my boss would let me do that, but I end at six anyways."
"Alright, I'll meet you at my place at seven, then? That way I can get off an hour early and then set everything up."
"Set everything up?" He asked.
"Uh, yeah. We're gonna need snacks, drinks, and like fifty pillows and blankets."
"Oh yeah, you're right, you're right."
The bus stopped at the corner by your work, "Alright, well, I'll see you tomorrow... and Friday. Bye!"
"Bye nerd." He smiled goofily, watching you until you got off the bus.
Boy, were you excited about movie night!
