I landed back on the floor and looked up at the man.
“You have to be kidding,” I said, trying not to think about the game yesterday.
“Nope, I am not kidding,” the man responded as he sat down on the floor of the closet.
I shook my head in confusion.
“Wait. Yesterday you called asking if I wanted to get rid of my flying ability, and now you want me to play this silly game?” I asked, extremely confused.
“Well, it is more complicated than that Orbit. They are all connected though. Playing this game will save the world, but doing so, you will also loose your fight abilities. It’s kind of like a win lose situation,” he explained.
“And what would happen if I chose not to play the game?” I asked.
The man took a deep breath and sighed.“If you chose to be selfish and not play the game, you would still have your powers, but the world would soon end,” he said.
I started to pace around the closet.
“This makes absolutely no sense,” I said to the man.The man shook his head and stood up.
“You still don't get it do you? Damn, why did they have to pick such a stupid little girl?” he mumbled, loud enough for me to hear.
“Hey! I’m not stupid!” I yelled, stomping my foot into the concrete floor under me.
The man turned to the door of the janitors closet.
“Do you really want to know what happened and why this game had to be started?” he asked in an uneasy voice.
“If it would help me understand this while situation, then yes,” I exclaimed.
“Alright then,” he said as he pulled a small device off of the wall.
“You cant yell anymore, got it?”
I walked over to the man to see what he pulled off of the wall.
“Why? What is that?” I asked.
The man opened his hand to reveal a small, black circle.
“This is a noise blocker. Didn't you wonder why no one came when you were yelling and screaming? It is because of this thing. It stops the soundwaves from leaving the room,” he explained.
I picked up the device and examined it. It was solid black, smooth, and couldn't have been bigger than a quarter.
“This little thing kept it so the whole school couldnt hear us?” I asked in amazement.
“”Us? Don't you mean, you?” he asked in a joking tone.
I rolled my eyes. This man thought he had a sense of humor.
I placed the device back in his hand, and he opened up the closet door.
“Follow me, ok?” he whispered.
I nodded and began following him though the school.
After walking down what seemed like every hallway in the school, we arrived at a old classroom. The classroom hasn't been in use for years, and it looked like it too. The window on the door was extremely dirty and possibly stained, the doorknob was incredibly dusty and slightly rusted, and the door looked like it was about to fall off of the doorframe.
The man dug around in his left pocket for a second, pulled out a small key, and opened the door.
“After you,” he said while holding the door open for me.
I took a deep breath and walked into the room.
The light was on in the room, but it didn't make it very bright in there because the light cover was covered in a thick layer of dust.
As I looked around the room, it was very obvious that this room was no longer a classroom. The wall were covered in whiteboards, and plans for something was written all over them. There were no desks anywhere, the only kind of flat surface in there was a large square table that was directly in the center of the room. The rest of the room will filled with random stacks of papers, and most of the stacks went to the ceiling.
“Woah, what is this place?” I asked while examining the whiteboards on the walls.
The man smiled and closed the door behind him.
