Chapter 13

Riven's POV:

I AM SO FUCKING LATE!

I was jogging down the halls before I finally got to Lilith's room, banging on the door before it opened revealing my best friend.
"You are so late-"
"I know! Chastise me later!" I pushed passed her, shocking her as she laughed at me once I sat on the couch and took my glass of wine. 
"So, tonight I was thinking we could just relax here! We've been in the library all day, why not take a break?" I started laughing at her, super excited about the ring on my finger, but trying to keep my composure.

"Who are you and what have you done to my Lily-pilly?" she snorted, growing embarrassed and laughing with me as we drank our wine.
"You seem chipper, date go well? Also uh... did you take a shower? Your hair is wet" I nearly choked on my drink- she knows.

"Well I uh-"
"You only shower in the mornings... Riven are you o-"
"HE PROPOSED!" I stood up, looking at Lilith as her glass shattered in her hand from the sheer strength of her grip when she heard me.
"Oh my Titan! Your hand!" she shook her head, looking to see her hand was bleeding.

She got up, letting me take her hand and lead her to the kitchen to grab the first aid kit. I disinfected the cuts before placing healing patches on her hand.

"Belos proposed? Let me see" I let her inspect the silver ring with the red gem.
"Isn't it lovely?"
"It's kinda small, you'd think the Emperor would give his lover something big-"
"He would if his lover LIKED big things, but since his lover prefers the small subtle thing, he got me just that, small and subtle"
"Subtle is right, I didn't even notice this beauty... is it enchanted? I feel magic from it" I shrugged, Lilith drawing a small circle above the ring, causing the gem to glow.

"It is enchanted! I wonder what kind of magic it can do. Maybe a protection spell... he does cherish you"
"Lilith please-"
"Oh Raven Feather's! THAT'S why you showered!" I gave her a puzzled look before she took my hands in hers and spun me around her room with her.

"Lilith what do you mean? I showered because of a ring?" she shook her head, giving me a knowing smirk before leaning to my ear.
"You two copulated" all the blood drained from my face.
"Is it really that obvious?" I whimpered, Lilith nodding and leading me back to the couch after she got herself another wine glass and pouring more into said glass.

"You look like you had a system restart. Feels wrong saying that the Emperor had sex... but hey, you're my best friend, the Emperor... I guess because of you I see him as a colleague rather than an Emperor" she pondered, sipping from her glass as I couldn't help but laugh.
"I suppose I don't see him as the Emperor either... he's simply my boyfriend to me-"
"Fiance" Lilith corrected, making us both laugh.
"That's gonna take a while" I giggled, both of us just laughing and talking the night away, before there was a knock at the door. 
Lilith got up, heading for the door and opening it.
"Hello Steve"
"Heya Lily! The Emperor wanted to know if Lady Riven has a return time in mind" I snickered, looking to the clock and seeing it was now nearly 4am, Lilith and I have been talking for hours. 
"No need, Steve. I'll head back now, that ok Lilith?" she nodded, coming over and giving me a hug.

"Congratulations Rivs"
"See you later Lily-Pilly" I gave her another squeeze before leaving, Steve escorting me back.

"You don't have to escort me Steve, I know the way"
"Oh I know my Lady! But I wouldn't be doing my job if I let the Emperor's partner walk the halls alone! Especially after the fire incident yesterday the Emperor has demanded that you and Prince Hunter are guarded at all times" he said happily, skipping a few steps. 
"Thank you Steve, I'll be sure to tell Belos of your devotion"
"Yes! Spear for Steve!" he cheered, making me laugh as we got to the room.
