Freezing temperatures, icicles overhead
Rolling out of the shelter with 2 week old bed head
6:30am or 7am, first bus ride
Strangers, stragglers, and hagglers slide in the cold side by side
Can't feel my legs or my toes
Freezing rain, drizzling on all the city's people without homes
My sorrowful tears when I hear of the rat race of the shelter less 9-5
Food
Warmth
Sleep
Safe
These beautiful people's daily cry
Torn clothes
Tattered hearts
Shame filled eyes
City of Springfield
Under bridges
Darkness lies
My heart aches to set them free
Gods people on the cold streets
1 in 4 never make it to a home
Everyone of them feel forever alone
