"Nurse Tori, room 103 please."
I'm right here at the door, I knocked twice before entering. "Good afternoon," bati ko sa pasyente.
"Good afternoon, Doc!" masiglang bati ng batang lalake sa akin.
"Not a Doctor yet," I said while smiling and started to check his condition.
Tatlong araw na niya rito sa hospital at nagpapagaling pa rin, because he had an allergy attack.
"Where are your parents?" tanong ko habang hinahanda ang mga gamot na dapat ipainom sa kaniya.
"I think my Mommy left to buy me snacks, do you want some? I can give you." Alok pa niya.
"No, thank you."
Naisipan ko na daldalin muna siya habang wala pa ang kaniyang bantay, "is it okay if I stay with you for a while?" He excitedly nodded.
"So, what should I call you if you're not a Doctor yet?"
"Nurse. You can call me Nurse Tori, what about you? Should I call you Angelo or Joaquin?" I knew his name, of course I have his information list after Doc Manuel asked me to do this favor.
"You can call me whatever you want po, but my close friends and relatives calls me Anjo." He explained.
"Wow! Anjo, such a nice name." And familiar.
"And your name sounds like tower, I like tall buildings so much." Too familiar.
"Wow! really? Do you want to be an engineer, so you can build towers?"
"Yeah, kind of. Because my uncle is also an engineer now!" Masigla niyang kwento.
"You're so cute, you're ten, right?" he nodded, "I remember my little Zeev."
"Who's Zeev?"
"Oh, he's my brother, but he's already a grown up now."
"I like you, nurse."
"Huh?"
"I like you for my uncle," aniya habang pinipigilan ko ang tawa.
"What do you mean?"
"My uncle has been single for years and years, that's why." Pagpapaliwanag niya.
"Describe to me how your uncle looks like."
He was about to speak when someone entered the room, his mom.
"Mommy!" the kid exclaimed.
Binati niya ako at lumapit sa anak, "what took you so long, mommy?"
Nag-usap na sila kaya naman ito na ang signal ko para lumabas na ako.
I was already holding the doorknob when someone opened it first. Doesn't even know how to knock? so rude.
Pagbukas ng pinto ay diretso pasok siya. I was step a back, he's already facing me.
The smile on his face faded when he clearly saw me, and his eyes show no emotions.
He's now looking at me coldly, "uncle!"
He turned at the kid, smiled and turn back his gaze to me again.
I can't even look at his eyes directly, what's wrong with you, Satori?
His eyes are deeply looking at me, like he wanted to burn me down. I can feel it.
"Excuse me." I had a hard time to spoke, and make it cold.
When I closed the door my feet are already trembling, maybe because of the tense inside there.
I didn't notice it earlier because it was too intense.
I can't be mistake, it was him. The guy I loved back when I was in college, still pursuing my dreams.
The guy who pursued me, who will give up everything just for me. But I guess it was all nothing anymore.
Just like how I treated him eight years ago, how I ended up and threw our memories out just for him to leave me.
And for him to get mad at me.
I wonder if he's still really mad at me. It's because all her fault.
