NICK'S POV

On my way to the studio like Abel asked me to. I couldn't help but wonder what that fucker is up to, saying he has a surprise had me all nervous and shit.

Entering the building, I didn't had to show no identification no more. The guards and mostly everyone knows me here because of Abel. I was always in the studio with him before I got in the NBA, I even help him write some of his songs back then. We've known each other for almost a decade now, we had each other's back through tough times.

I got inside the studio and the smell of weed immediately hit me as I saw his whole crew was there.

"Aye wassup, Niko." Lamar greeted me who looks like just got out the joint.

I dapped all them up before walking to Abel who was busy writing something.

I sat beside him, "What'd you need me here for?"

He sighed before giving me a grin, "I need you to write a verse."

My brows furrowed in confusion, "Bruh, you know I ain't writing no shit no more." I chuckled.

"It's not for me."

"The more reason for me not to do it. My creative juices are dried. I got nothing." I laughed.

"If I tell you who's it for, you'll change your mind, asshead." He chuckled and I just laughed even more.

"I ain't changing my mind whoever it i—"

"It's for Ari."

I stared at him blankly while I try to process what just came out of his mouth. Wait, I think I heard it wrong.

"Come again?" I asked once more.

"Your Moonlight." He teased.

Fucking hell.

I ran my hand through my hair as my face went numb. This certainly is a motherfucking surprise. This fucking asshole knows I can't say no to that woman.

After minutes of thinking and staring at nothing. My mind was still a mess but the thought of doing something for her again is something I've been wanting to do again. That woman is still buried deep in my heart, and saying no to this is just wrong for me.

I squeezed my eyes shut and sighed, "What's the song called?"

"Off the Table. I tried writing a verse for it but hell, it just didn't sound right. I figured, you, being.. her past, can come up with something good. It's for her album by the way. Also, she doesn't know your the one who's gonna write for it." He explained and I just slowly nodded.
