Meg woke up the next morning, extremely tired. It was like she hadn't gotten a lick of sleep.
She got ready for the day quickly, knowing she was a bit behind. She wore a white dress with brown flat boots to cheer herself up. She did her makeup for springtime and curled her hair lightly.
She added another layer of scent just in case and left her room with her things. "Come on, Chris. We're late."
"You look nice, Meg." Brian was severely uncomfortable.
"Thanks, Brian." Meg was texting Angelique.
"Meg, we have to talk about your new friendship." Lois started.
"We really don't."
"Excuse me?" Lois' voice was deceptively quiet.
"Chris, are you coming or not?" Meg looked up from her phone. "She's already here."
Chris stood slowly, not wanting to draw his mother's wrath. He inched out slowly until he was in the clear then he ran.
Meg turned to leave.
Stewie began crying. "What about my kiss?!"
Meg smiled and went to kiss his oddly shaped head. "From me and her."
Stewie beamed.
Meg left.
Lois was horrified. "What about your lunch?!"
"No thank you!" Meg slammed the door closed.
Lois was steaming. "Peter, I don't like this!"
Peter was exhausted by his wife. Usually she was such fun but lately, she'd been such a drag. "I've got work, Lois."
"So you're leaving me here to deal with our disobedient child on my own?"
Brian took Stewie to the park.
Peter wished he could join them. "What do you want from me, Lois?"
Lois shot up and stalked out. "Nothing, Peter. Nothing at all."

Chris couldn't take the silence anymore. Meg was stewing in the passenger's seat while Angelique minded her own business in the driver's seat. It was getting to the blond. "Can we talk about this?"
Angelique's brows raised but Meg spoke. "No."
"Please?" Chris begged. "I'm worried about you."
Meg's eyes almost fell out of her head. "You're what?!"
"I'm worried about you." Chris repeated. "You're acting different and now you and Mom are always fighting. Why'd you come home so late?"
Angelique parked in the school lot. "It's none of my business but I think you two should talk. Maybe cut first period and iron out your family?"
Meg couldn't believe how incredible Angelique was being. Was. They had to iron out their relationship but Angelique wanted her family sorted out first? Incredible. "Thanks. I'll see you at lunch."
Angelique smiled. "See ya, Tron. Bye, Chris."
Chris waved her away as she locked her doors and left to go inside the school. "She's the best."
Meg was starting to see she was. "Let's go to the choir room. No one's in there in the morning."
{}
Chris sat his backpack in a chair and sat himself on a stool. "So what's going on?"
Meg sighed. "I'm not sure."
