Ice Cold

pass the puck

I woke up to my alarm blaring through my room, i rolled over in my bed and checked the clock it was 6:30am. I always liked to get to practice early so i could be alone for a little.

i slumped out of bed and lazily made my way to the bathroom and turned the shower on, i waited for the water to heat up before i stepped in and sluggishly slid down the wall, i sat on the floor letting the water run over my body, i almost fell asleep in the shower because i was so tired so i took that as my sign to get up and get washed.

i didn't get much sleep last night, i think i got like 2 hours because as always my parents were up arguing all night, after i finished washing my hair i turned off the water and stepped out, i grabbed my towel off the rack and wrapped it around my waist, i walked back to my room and plopped down on the bed and began drying myself.

I quickly dried my body with the towel and then headed over to my closet, i grabbed my hockey jersey and some black sweatpants and chucked them on the bed. i grabbed my duffel bag from the top shelf and put in some casual clothes for after practice and my skates.

i put on my hockey clothes and then quickly blow dried my hair until it was atleast 75 precent dry, i grabbed my hockey stick and then ran down the stairs, nobody else was awake so i just made myself a slice of toast and then headed out the door.

I locked the door behind me and began the walk to the rink, i arrived at the rink after about 15 minutes and made my way to the locker room, i sat down on the bench and started tying up my skates.

after i was ready i grabbed my hockey stick and skates onto the ice, i grabbed a set of goals out of the closet and put it on one side of the ice, i grabbed a puck and put it down in front of me i started hitting it with my stick chasing it around the ice before shooting some goals.

after about 10 minutes on the ice someone else skated on, it was Sapnap

"oh hey sap what are you doing here this early" I asked him trying to catch my breath

"I could ask you the same thing" he replied smiling

"oh i just wanted to practice a little more"

"cool, well do you mind if i join you?" he asked me

"yeah of course you can"

Sapnap skated over to where i was standing and i skated over to the goals to grab the puck i just shot into it, I skated back over to Sapnap and put the puck infront of him as I skated back over to the goals to play defence, i blocked a couple of shots but a couple of them also made it in. me and sapnap switched places so that he was playing defence now.

we practiced for about half an hour until the rest of the hockey team finally arrived we all practiced together and eventually played some games like ice tag and other random ones.

we also played our favourite game it was called 'pass the puck' it was always played before lunch because one player from the team would have a puck and they had to give it to someone random from the team, but you never wanted to be the last one with the puck when lunch began because that person has to buy the whole team slushys.

last i heard quackity was the last person with the puck so everyone was avoiding him, that was until he skated up to me.

"i'm sorry dream but i have to get revenge some how" Quackity said smiling viciously while dropping the puck into my pocket, i tried to get it out and give it to another person and then i heard the bell ring which meant it was lunch time and i was the one with the puck.

i could hear my teamates all laughing as they realised I had the puck we all skated off the ice and went into the locker rooms in a big crowd, as we all started untying our skates.

"so dream you've got the puck right?"

"yes punz i have the puck, and i hope blue slushys are fine for all of you cause i'm not doing any complicated orders"

we all headed up to the cafe and the rest of the team went and sat at a table as i went over to the counter to order.

"hi could i order.." i turned around to count all my teammates "uh 12 blue slushys please" i said with a laugh

"uh the blue isn't ready right now, is red okay?" she replied with a smile

"yeah, yeah red is fine" I said back with a smile.

i stood by the counter waiting for the slushys to be ready, the lady behind the counter started pouring red slushy mix into 12 separate plastic cups, she put all the cups onto a tray and i thanked her with a smile before i walked over to the table my team was sitting at.

"clay dude are you colourblind these are red." punz said laughing.

"no, uh the blue slushy mix isnt ready yet so we had to get red"

We finished our slushys and our food and then headed back to the ice for our last hour of training we tied up our skates and then skated back onto the ice, we did a quick game of hockey it was 2-1 to our team and then did some random shots.

"right guys off the ice time to let the figure skaters on" the coach shouted

we headed to the locker room for what felt like the 15th time today we took off our skates and then i went into a stall so i could get changed into regular clothes.

after i was ready i walked back out to the ice and stood on the sidelines watching George elegantly skate across the ice.

"who is that" sapnap said from behind me

"oh that's George"

"no not him i dont care about him, i mean who is that" he said pointing at a boy skating next to George, he had fluffy brown hair and he was wearing black ice skates, he was pretty i'll give him that but no one was prettier than George.

"uh i'm not sure but after their practice i'm heading to the cafe with George if you wanna join us and invite him?"

"yeah sure when do they finish?" sapnap asked making his way to sit on the benches

"uh they're only on for an hour and then they have lunch its the same routine as ours."

"alright cool"
