Chapter 1

"You think we lost them?!" Scotch barked. "I think so," Cupcake told him. "Scotch, slow down!" Gunner said. "God, why do have to be so fast?! You're literally bigger than me!" "Hey!" Scotch snarled.

"Don't push it, Gunner," Justice said. "You can understand humans, so don't push it." "Wait, that gives me an idea!" Cupcake said. "Since he can talk to humans, he can run off to get someone to adopt us!" "Oh hell no!" Gunner said. "I don't wanna!"

"You have to, Gunner!" Justice said. "For all we know, the humans could track us this far! We have tracking collars, after all!" "I guess you're right," Gunner said. "Fine." He ran off immediately. "Now, we wait," Scotch said.

The three pups sat down, waiting patiently for Gunner to return. He eventually returned with four people following him, three males and a female.

The girl squealed and hugged Cupcake tightly. "You're so cute!!" she said. "I love you!!" Cupcake smiled and licked the girl's cheek. She tasted like acid, but since that was Cupcake's power, it didn't bother her at all.

"Dogs aren't supposed to lick me! I taste like acid!" the girl said. "Mina, that's her power," Gunner said. "It doesn't affect her." "Her name is Mina?" Cupcake asked. Gunner nodded.

He looked at the boys. "And this is Tenya Iida, Koji Koda, and Ejiro Kirishima!" he barked. Justice approached Kirishima and cautiously hardened her paws in case she had to use them.

"She can harden her body!" Ejiro said. "That's really manly!" Justice didn't know what to take that as due to being a female. "Or should I say womanly!" he continued, realizing Justice was a girl.

"That's Justice!" Gunner told him. "What's Justice?" Kirishima asked. "Her name," Gunner said. "Her name is Justice." "Oh, I see," Kirishima said. "It's her name."

He scratched Justice behind her ear, which she liked, causing her to unharden her paws. "And Tenya, you'll probably like my brother, Scotch! He's the fastest and he can keep up with you!" Gunner said. "He also aspires to use his power for good!"

Iida approached the fox-like dog and held his hand out. Scotch cautiously sniffed his hand, then licked him. "Yeah, I do like him," Iida said. He petted the pup, which he liked.

"Alright, we should probably get back to UA," Mina said. "Oh! I never properly introduced the pups!" Gunner said. "You already know my name is Gunner, and the fox-like dog is Scotch. My sisters are Cupcake and Justice!"

"Alright, let's go," Iida said. He ran down the road, Scotch running by his side. "Hey! Wait for us, you idiot!" Gunner snarled. Koda let Gunner climb onto his shoulder and they followed Iida. Mina paired up with Cupcake and Kirishima paired up with Justice.

They got to UA and Iida looked at his dog. "Sorry, did I tire you out?" he asked, then he rolled his eyes and facepalmed. "Like he can even answer me! Only Gunner can!"

"I can translate, y'know," Gunner said. Scotch barked. "He said, 'Tired me out?! I'm just getting warmed up!'" "He did not say that," Iida denied. "I did not say that," Scotch panted.

"Gunner, stop lying!" Koda said. "He did not say that. What he actually said was, 'yeah, you tired me out a little, but not too bad.'"

"That's the most I've ever heard you speak," Iida said. "Yeah, I know," Koda said. "I just couldn't let Gunner lie to you. It just left a bad taste in my mouth." "I feel you," Iida said.

"Yeah, sorry, Koji," Gunner said. "It's fine, I guess," Koda said. "Just don't do it again." "I won't," Gunner said. Koda scratched behind Gunner's ear.

They headed into the dorms. Koda immediately knelt in front of Gunner and took off the tracking collar. "Looks like whoever had you before didn't want to lose you," he said.

"Don't worry. You and your siblings are safe with us," Kirishima said. Iida took the tracking collar off of Scotch and Mina and Kirishima did the same to Cupcake and Justice.

Koda then put a red collar that seemingly appeared out of thin air around Gunner's neck. "Welcome home, Gunner," was all he said as he did so.

He handed the others collars and they put them on the dog's necks. "Yeah, welcome home," Kirishima said. He ran his fingers through Justice's fur. Mina scratched around Cupcake's neck. "You'll be here forever now."

"I know we'll have a bond I never really felt with dogs," Iida said. He scratched behind Scotch's ear. Despite being able to talk to all humans, Koda was really the only one Gunner ever felt a special bond with.

Probably because even if he couldn't, Koda could still understand him. Same with Scotch's bond with Iida, Justice's bond with Kirishima, and Cupcake's bond with Mina. This was truly the beginning of a new adventure.
