Chapter 1

~Jayla's P.o.v~     "Jayla!" My best friend screamed in my ear trying to wake me up.

"Get up! We're gonna be late."  

"Late for what?" I asked rolling over to the other side to face her.   

"We were gonna meet up with Amber at the mall."   I scoffed and rolled my eyes "You know I don't like her, She's such a bitch"  

"Then why are you 'friends' with her?"  

I through my covers off and sat up on my bed. "You're the one who is friends with her," I through my hands in the air "You know what she did to me."  

"Look can you just come with me. Please?" She looked at me with pleading eyes.   

"Fine. Just cause I love you" I smiled  

"Yay! Go get ready. I'll be down stairs eating your food" She walked out of my room leaving me to myself.   

I grabbed my iPhone 5 that was charging on the night stand next to my bed to see if I had any missed calls or texts. Nope. I put it back down and walked to my bathroom and took a hot shower. I grabbed the towel off of the rack and dried myself off, then wrapped the towel around my body.    I picked out a simple outfit and walked back into the bathroom to do my hair. When I was finished, I grabbed a red neff beanie and a pair of my Jordans than walked down stairs to see Brenda and my older brother ,Aaron, stuffing their facing with food.   

"And where's my food?" I asked   

Aaron pointed to his stomach "In here." And then he gave me a smile and you could see some food stuck in his braces  

I couldn't help but laugh.   

"What's so funny?" Aaron and Brenda said at almost the same time  

"You got food stuck in yo braces"   He rolled his and just looked at me  

"Are you ready to go?" Asked Brenda  

"Yeah, let me just get my phone and my credit card" I jogged up the stairs and grabbed what I needed. Then walked back down stairs.   

"Leggo" Brenda joyfully said grabbing her keys and bag  

"Bye Aaron!" I yelled and walked out the door with Brenda.

"Amber, can we leave this store already? We've been in here for like an hour and you still haven't picked out anything!" Brenda exclaimed  

Amber gave Brenda a 'sad' face the spoke"Ugh, fine. Lets go somewhere else then."   

"Let's go into Champs! The new Jordans came out and I wanna get them soooo badly" I whined  

"Ok, I wanna look at some shoes anyways" Brenda said as we all walked out on our way to Champs.   

My phone started to ring out of no where making me spaz out a little.    I picked it up, not bothering to read the name of who was calling.   

"Hello?"  

"Hey, sweetie."  

"Hey daddy. What's up?"  

"I just got home from work. Where are you?"  

"Oh, I'm at the mall."  

"Ok, Well when you get home O have to tell you something"  

"K. Bye"  

I hung up with out evening hearing him say bye.   

Once we arrived at Champs I walked straight to the Jordans section and found the ones I was looking for.   

"Do you need any help?" Someone said from behind me making me jump and turn around quickly  

"Jakob! I didn't know you were working today." I said to my boyfriend before giving him a hug and a kiss on the lips.   

"Yeah, I decided to work on Saturdays too, to get some more money to take you out on more dates" He said winking at me.   

I smiled and gave him the shoe and asked for a size six. He came right back with the shoe box and gave it to me  

"These ones?"  

"Yup" I smiled  

"I'm gonna get them in white later today."  

"And we can be twinning!"  

He smiled, "Okay, I have to go help out other people. See you later,babe" He gave me a quick kiss and smiled  

"Bye" I waved and walked over to Brenda and Amber and told her to wait in line with me while I buy the shoes  

"So, how are you and Jakob?" Asked Amber  

Why the hell does she care? "We're doing good, really good." I smiled  

"That's nice." She pulled out her phone and began to text someone

I waved bye to Brenda and walked into my house.   

"Dad! I'm home. What do you have to tell me?"  

"I'm in my office. I'll be down in a minute"  

I walked to the living room and laid on the couch.   

"Ok. Now Jayla, before I talk to you I want you to understand that this is gonna be good for our family."  

"Okaaayyyyy. Proceed"  

"Well Jayla, you know how you always wanted to go to California?"  

"Yes, what's your point?"  

"My point is that now we can live there!"He tried to sound excited

I jumped off of the couch and stood up angrily "What?!!? Move there are you saying that we are moving to Cali?!"  

"Isn't that great? A new start"  

"Why? I don't want to move there and leave everything behind! When I say I want to go to Cali it means for like a week!"  

"Look baby calm down. I have to go. It's for my job. I got a promotion!"  

I looked at him with tears in my eyes and ran up to my room slamming my door shut and locking it. I plopped on my bed and cried. I don't want to move. I love my life here. I grabbed my phone to call Brenda. After 2 rings she picked up and I told her everything.
