"i just want to see you shine,
'cause i know you are a
stargirl."
—stargirl interlude, the weeknd & lana del rey.THE MORNING AFTER, Drea Torres had found herself bare faced, shyly staring at her best friend getting dressed. The young revengeful teenager had come to the conclusion the morning before that yes, she had a heart pounding crush on her friend. So, as she laid down on said friends bed with her head on her pillow watching her walk around in a bra, she felt like the sun and moon were coming together above her. "Haven't you heard it's rude to stare?"
The raven haired girls eyes snapped up towards the mirror where Iris was peering at her through. "It should be illegal to look that pretty, Ris."
Iris smiled as her cheeks flushed, shaking her head. "You are such a flirt."
Drea sent a timid, charming smile to the girl, "I just like to appreciate art when I see it." Iris was positive that the temperature in her bedroom went up. Her younger brother, Ethan, must've been playing with the thermostat again. The brunette bowed her head and took a discarded shirt from beside her, putting it over her head. Once again, she shook her head with a flushed face.
She realized she had been doing that a lot.
Iris sighed and turned back towards her bed, the small cozy room felt like a new home for the two of them. Drea had been over to Iris's house numerous times in the past few months, same as Drea's house. It was rare that the former popularity princess was ever alone in her house due to Iris being attached to her hip—and likewise for Iris's father. At this point, Ethan thought he had another sister.
"I felt accomplished seeing Clarissa get walked out by the police, even if she wasn't the person I want revenge on." The brunette noted, pulling the covers up from her side of the bed and slipping in beside her friend. "I can't help but imagine what it's going to feel like to see Lilah be escorted out as well."
Drea smiled and let out a small chuckle, "Yeah, the Glennergy really leapt out." Iris laughed along with her before a comfortable silence comforted them. The two laid in the New Yorker's bed, staring at the popcorn ceiling above them. The small stars that lit up in the dark staring back at them. "Your house is.. so cozy."
Iris laughed, "'Cozy' is just a nice way of saying 'small.' But, thanks."
Drea squeezed her eyes shut, "I didn't mean it like that. I mean, you've seen my house. It's small.. and cozy."
Iris turned on her left side, to face Drea who continued to trace the stars on the ceiling with her eyes. "I used to be so afraid of Tara and them finding out this is where I lived. Isn't that twisted? They were my best friends."
"Yeah, but your instincts were right. They're bitches."
"I guess." She paused, "Speaking of, I'm ready to see those texts Eleanor graced us with."
"You sure?" Iris watched as Drea took a deep breath, her chest rising and falling. She nodded in confirmation as Iris reached beside her to grab her phone. She didn't think this was a good idea, but come to think of it, she didn't think much of the stuff they've already done had been amazingly great ideas. She sniffled before opening her phone to the text thread with screenshots of Max's messages she had been given by Eleanor.
Iris put her phone between them, so Drea could read them. The texts made both of their eyes widen.
"Oh my God. He's cheating with half the girls at Rosehill." She mumbled. Each screenshot had different texts threads of sexting or girls sending nude photos to Max. "There are messages here from a girl in every clique... They go back years."
