π| SIXTEEN***That fire and hunger in your eyes, I hope it never wanes...
~Carmen~
You find a good spot along the way and pull over after a few minutes, unwilling to address her accusation while driving lest you get both of you killed. You take of your seatbelt and make yourself comfortable in your seat, turning a bit to your side so you can properly look at her.
She -in turn- met your eyes with hers, unshaken. You keep staring at her for what seemed like a long time to you -though it isn't in actuality- with those piercings eyes of yours because you are yet to understand the message that she was trying to pass across to you. She raised a brow at you after a few more seconds with a questioning look on her pretty face, obviously impatient.
"What exactly do you mean by that?" you finally ask her. She looked away for a moment, to collect her thoughts you think, and then she returned her attention to you once again.
"The fire in your eyes died flower," she said to you.
"What fire?" You ask her with quizzical eyes. She looked away from you and down at her laps were her fingers were playing with each other.
"You seem torn and tensed. You seem as if you regret picking me up at the bar." You said nothing, studying her form. Her shoulders were stiff with tension and she looked like she was holding her breath waiting for you answer.
"And why on earth do you think that flower?" you ask her leaning forward towards her, your short hair grazing your cheek occasionally.
"You keep sighing and you have not told me where we are going. Also..." There was a long pause and you somehow figured out that this must be the main reason she is like that. "Also, you haven't touched me again, or looked at me. It's as if you don't see me here."
"Oh Little Bird," you said before you gave in to the laughter that came upon you. The soft bubbling sound from your stomach surprised her. It was evident in the way her eyes widened at you. Her gaze said "How Dare You!" to you.
"Did- did I say something funny?" she snapped at you in a voice that revealed her growing anger. You want to stop laughing in order not to offend her at least, but you can't. Her reaction and the look in your expressive eyes kept the entertaining laughter coming. "Stop! Stop laughing!" she snapped again.
"I- I'm try- trying to," you take forever to tell her in between. She huffed and puffed and tried to leave the automobile. You reached for her elbow, stopping her. She turned to you with angry eyes.
"What? Let go!"
"I'm sorry. I really am. It is just that you just look so cute and adorable when you are flustered."
"Not nice, not fair too,"she voiced her opinion.
"Little Bird," you coaxed her softly, "I have been trying to keep my hands to myself lest we both end up in the hospital. I already have two parking tickets and maybe I might get a third or not." She smiled at you then, a smile that made something warm fill your heart, pure and lovely.
