CHAPTER FOURTEEN !

.*

ESTELLA DIDN'T KNOW WHY, but with hearing the one voice that she hadn't heard in a long time, hearing the one voice that she had been longing to hear - she panicked. with glenn and maggie suddenly gone, and hearing all of the loud commotion outside, she didn't know if this was a trap. was it her mom? or was her mom the one that took maggie and glenn away? she didn't know, so she stood up without any of her thoughts actually making sense, and ran to the other end.

when she came across the window, she pushed it open and climbed up, her backpack still clung to her back as she got it off, throwing it through the window before climbing through herself. she landed on the floor with quite some force, but she got up anyway - running back the way they came on the road.

however, before she even reached the road, she felt someone grab her. she screamed at the top of her lungs, assuming it was a walker until she was put down. she turned around to be faced with her mom, and another woman.

"estella, why are you running from me? i've been trying to find you for so long, and i did." she said, hugging her tightly.

"what took you so long?" estella asked, taking a step back.

"i can explain now, or we can go back to wherever this needs to be. i don't want to be the reason a baby starves." she said.

estella sighed in distress, but she knew that the group was running extremely low on formula, and she, too, didn't want the baby to starve. whether her mom and this random woman were bad or not, she would have to figure that out later. right now, her only concern was getting this food back to the baby.

"we are staying at a prison." she said, before noticing the limp that the other woman was walking with. "what happened?"

"michonne got shot by the same people that took your friends. i can help with that, too." her mom said as they began to walk. it wouldn't be a long walk to the prison.

"i think maybe the people i'm with can help michonne with her leg." estella said, continuing the walk.

there was no conversation on the walk. only michonne's grunts of pain and the sounds of their boots hitting the floor. when they reached the prison, there were only few walkers pressed up against the gates, so estella began running, her mom following her, and michonne trying her best.

"carl! carl!" estella yelled to carl who was at the gate. "open!"

carl panicked and shouted for his dad, but opened the gate anyway. when all three of them were in, carl quickly shut the gate again. rick came over, gun raised to both their heads, except estella's as beth pulled her way from the women.
