I Think I Like That

Bertholdt heard the doorbell ring as he was tying his dress shoes.

"Bertholdt...Pieck's here"

Bertholdt took one last look at himself in the mirror and headed downstairs.

Pieck looked stunning in her dark purple dress, her dark black hair hanging in loose curls around her.

"Wow...Pieck you look incredible!"

She giggled, "you're not so bad yourself, too bad Porco has to miss is"

"Don't worry we will take plenty of pictures" Bertholdt's dad said.

"Remember we are meeting at the Reiss's for pictures" Bertholdt said before heading out the door with date number 1.

Reiner looked around the lit up backyard of the Reiss home.

"Must be nice to be rich" he thought.

He looked over to see Ymir and Historia posing for pictures, envious that they were able to be so open about their relationship.

"Reiner!"

Reiner turned to see Pieck and Bertholdt coming towards him.

He felt his stomach do a back flip. Bertholdt looked so good in a suit.

"You look good Reiner" he said with a warm smile.

"Yeah it's nice to see you in something besides jeans and a t-shirt" Pieck said straighten his tie.

"Finally y'all are here..." Reiner's mom waved them over to the gazebo that was in the yard.

"Time to go parade for the parents" Reiner said.

Bertholdt had been feeling confident, but now that his was at the dance, he felt a bit nauseous.

He really didn't want people talking about it, he also didn't want to see Annie or Armin.

It was like Reiner could sense his hesitancy. He placed a hand on his shoulder.

"You ok Bert?"

"Yeah just....you know..."

"Don't worry I'm with ya" Reiner said with a smile.

"Well come on you two, it's not every day I get to have two guys on my arms" Pieck said. "Time to make an entrance.

The gym was decorated like a winter wonderland. Ice crystal lights, snowflakes, a hot chocolate station, and snow sleigh where you could take pictures.

The music was thumping. They found their friend group and soon Pieck was dragging both Reiner and Bertholdt to the dance floor.

Bertholdt was actually having a great time, he was enjoying time with his friends, and would steal occasional glances at Reiner.

"Man he does look really good in a suit" he thought.

He was pretty sure they brushed hands several times, each time making a tingle run down Bertholdt's spine.

Everything was going great...until a slow song came on.

Bertholdt decided to let Reiner dance with Pieck since he was Pieck original date.

He was only his way to the hot chocolate stand, when he looked towards the dance floor again.

There he saw Armin and Annie. Dancing close together.

It had been a few weeks since he caught her cheating but it still hurt. He tried to focus on fixing his hot chocolate, but his eyes kept going back to the dance floor.
