Prologue

AU POV

Rivet Town, one of the busiest communities there is within the 30 miles outside of Robot City. There is no care in the world, just prospering and enjoying life. However, it seems like someone's day is going to be even better.

(Yes just use this as a small part of the story so you know how Rodney comes to be in this part 🤣)

3 years later..
(Major time skip but it'll come together.)

Rodney POV

I heard the sound of my dad come walking into the kitchen, trailing behind him. "Are those my big boy parts?!" I ask. He nods, putting down the heavy box onto the kitchen table. I stand up on the chair, inspecting the contents. My face then falls. "They aren't shiny.." Mom stopped stirring the soup she was making, my dad putting his hand on the box. "No, but they are p-preowned." "its from your cousin, Jeffrey!" mom chimed in. "it will only be for a year." Dad reassured me. Knowing that my family does come from a struggling system, I can't be mad at it. The best thing is, that they are trying. I just wish there was something I could do to help my dad and mom.

A few hours later...

My father was wrapping up dishes as I sit in the living room, waiting for our favorite show to come on.  The Bigweld Show, was one of the shows on TV that I absolutely adored. I have always wanted to invent, to create, to make life easier with these contraptions. Seeing my dad come walking through the doorway, he sits down on the couch; running a load of dishes in his washer. "Haha I'm coming, I had to bring work home with me again, Mr. Gunk is piling it up." without any further explanation, we got to watch the show. But a phrase that Mr. Bigweld says in the TV resonated with me.

"It doesn't matter if you have new parts, old parts, or spare parts. You can shine no matter what you're made of."

My dad had fell asleep as I continued watching. I knew I could believe in myself if I just tried.

A week later...

Mom, Dad, and I came back from the store. Under the hazy sky, my optics found their way to 3 robots hauling boxes into the house right next to ours. A young robot with a blackish silver glossy coat on her metal stood out to me. She looked around my age. As she turned, she had the most beautiful purple eyes I have ever seen. It was like she had amethyst crystals for them. She had long black hair, plastered to her shoulders, almost down to her back. (flexible strong hair cx) Her figure was uh, wavy? It was hard to describe. (Curvy, basically.) She wore thin heeled shoes, with a bright smile on her face. Meeting my gaze, she waved. Completely entranced by her beauty, I ran into the tree that I forgot was next to our door. Falling onto my back, my eyes was stung by the sunset overhead. It turned black as I then lifted my gaze, the new girl standing over me.
