Cameron tapped her feet as she sat at the lunch table with everyone, minus Jerry. She was beside Milton, with a open spot on the other side of her. "Guys!!" They all turned their attention to Jerry, who almost tripped over another student to reach their table, "I got us the opportunity of a lifetime. We're gonna be rich!" He slammed a speaker onto the table, then glanced at Cameron, "Or richer, for some of us."

"For the last time, your mom's car has a leak, there's no oil under your house." Milton complained, Jerry shaking his head, "No, I signed us up for The Battle of the Dance Crews competition at the mall, check it!" He smacked the promotional poster onto the table, letting everyone read.

"Woah, first prize wins a thousand dollars!" Kim gasped, picking up the poster. Jerry sighed, shaking his head, "It's not just about the money, I've always loved dancing. Y'know, when I was a baby, my mom hung a disco ball over my crib."

Jack laughed a bit, getting up, "Did it ever fall on your head?" He asked, Jerry staring at him blankly, "Did. . . what ever fall on my head." Jack's smile dropped as he looked away awkwardly, "Jerry, that sounds great but we're not a dance crew." Eddie pointed out, Cameron nodding, "I don't know group dance." She added.

"I have the skills and I'll teach you the moves! And if we work hard, we can win this together." Jerry smiled hopefully, "Now what do you say?" There was jumbled agreement to the competition, and Jack nodded, "Okay, Jerry, you got yourself a crew!"

Jerry grinned, "Oh, yeah!" He cheered, doing a handshake with Jack before placing his closed fist on the palm of his hand, "Wasabi?" The rest of the table got up and copied, "Wasabi!" "Whoo!!" He shouted.

Cameron sat in the booth beside Jerry, Jack across from them. They insisted on Phil's for snacks, "Is it just me, or are these falafel balls greasier than usual?" Jack asked, holding up one ball and squeezing, grease seeping out and making a puddle.

She grimaced, "No, that looks about right." Jerry shrugged, then glanced away to the front doors of the shop, "Yo, check it out! That's Dan Brennan. He's the best dancer at our school." In the doorway was another generally popular guy at school, leaning against one of the doors while talking to a girl.

"Oh, I know him, we used to- Well, doesn't matter." Cameron hummed to herself, watching as he did a spin. "They call him Smooth." Jerry added, Jack turning back to look at them. "Because he's got great dance moves?" Cameron nodded a bit, "And his skin's crazy soft." She nodded a bit more aggressively, eyes going wide, "Like, the softest baby you can imagine, but more." She added, ignoring the weird look from both boys.

She looked away, checking her phone as Smooth walked over, leaning one arm on the table, "Hey, Jerry." He greeted, glancing at Jack, who tried to give his name, but was interrupted. "And hell-oo Cameron." She glanced up at him, giving a half real smile, "Smooth."

"I heard you karate clowns signed up for the dance contest. You know my crew, The Step Brotherz, win every year." Smooth continued, smiling proud. "Yeah, I know, just 'cause you win every year doesn't mean other people shouldn't try." Jerry shrugged, Smooth scoffing, "Yeah, it kinda does. See, I suggest you leave the dancing to us, and stay in your little karate club."

He went to leave as Jack turned to look at him, "You know, we're not just a karate club, we also offer free counseling to people with bad nicknames. You should come by sometime, Smooth." He shot out, Smooth almost glaring at Jack, "You guys are just gonna embarrass yourselves. You might have some moves, but can you move. . . like Smooth." He backed up to do a few spins, then falling into the splits, pushing himself to his back to then jump up to his feet, wiping his nose with his thumb.
