It's been almost an year since I found out about my powers, after we reached the cabin my mom decided she wanted to move somewhere else but not to far away from the home, just in case we needed it.After the incident that happened, we wanted to be safe.
Ever since then I have tried to become an normal teenager again, but every time I get frustrated or nervous, I set myself on fire, don't worry nothing happens to me, it's like I'm invincible or something, that's how I survived the fire.
My mom always tries to convince me to go to this school that's supposed to help me, but it's very far away from here and I don't want to leave my mom alone. So for now I just want to live my life.
I had to drag myself out of bed and try to go to the bathroom with my eyes closed, it was hard I bumped into things the whole time. My eyes finally got used to the light and I saw everything clearer, my messy brown hair that was always longer than it was suppose to be it was like one day it was short and the next I woke up as if I had spent 100 days in the safari.
Of course my shirt already had burnt holes in it, I guess it was because of those dreams I had, they triggered my powers.
-"honey are you ready yet? Your gonna be late your tutors here." My mom said knocking on my door, she entered the bathroom without knocking, of course.
-"mom!! You can't just enter into the bathroom like that!!" I really wanted her to listen but instead she just ignored me.
-"Aiden Montgomery did you burn this shirt too?!?" She said I could tell she was getting annoyed.
-"I told you to be careful!!!"
-"I was, I'm sorry"
-"it's okay, I know it is not your fault" she looked towards the ceiling, she looked like she had something to say.
-"is everything all right mom??"
-"yes I just think that it's time for you to change schools"
-"change schools?, mom we've talked about this!"
-"yes, I know but I think you should reconsider, when your father died he told me that you had to fulfill your destiny"
I knew what she was talking about she had told me the story a million times, but that didn't change anything.
-"mom, what destiny?!what mission? I'm just an average guy with a lot of bad luck!"
-"Aiden don't say that you know that you're special"
-"please mom just don't" and with that said I decided to leave the room, I was not in the mood to burn the house down.

Because of my special abilities i can't risk going to a real school, so of course I have a tutor instead.
-"Aiden did you do your homework?" Miss Burch asked, if I had to pick most boring teacher of the year it would be her, she was your average teacher her hair was almost as grey as the fur on all her cats and her glasses probably would have fit an elephant plus she was more than a little overweight.
I took me a while to come back to reality.
-"I'm sorry what did you say?" I said as I rubbed my eyes
-"ughh, Aiden you never listen" she started lecturing me on behaving,as always,so I decided to just ignore her and put my time to good use deciding wether I was going or not.
-"Miss Burch,do you think that if my mom wanted me to develop a special talent of mine I should?" At first she seemed a little confused with the question.
-"you? A talent?" She started laughing at me not bothering to notice that I was genuinely hurt.
-"yeah actually" she stopped laughing looked at how serious I was and took a deep breath.
-"Aiden let me tell you a story about a girl who didn't really understand what her mother wanted for her in life , she wanted more than anything in the world for her mom to listen to her, but she wouldn't and she spent her life doing something she didn't even want, time passed and that girl grew up, when she finally decided that it was her turn to be free she realized she didn't know how to."
I was shocked had Miss Burch the most annoying teacher ever actually given me advice.
-"wow, thanks Miss that was actually very helpful"
-"well don't sound so surprised, know let's continue today we will be learning about the..." After that her voice just trailed of and things went back to normal.
After what Miss Burch had told me I was confident I was going to go march to my moms room and tell her that I wasn't going, but something inside me told me I had to reconsider.
After all this was my life and I couldn't just stay with my mom forever I'd eventually have to leave sooner or later, right?
-"mom" I knocked on her door, I was ready to tell her my decision I guess Miss Burch actually has good advice.
-"hey Aiden come in" she was sitting down on her stool next to what looked like a canvas, I could never tell with abstract art, my mom loved painting she said it helped her take a break from the world.
-"mom I think that I have come to a decision" at the sound of those words my mom jumped up from the stool almost falling and came over to me.
-"really?!? And what would that be?"
-mom I think I want to give it a try, maybe it'll be for the best"
-"that's awesome that you think that because I sort of already signed you up, you start classes tomorrow."
