Sybbyl awoke with a start, she never could remember her dreams but she always "felt them" as she said. She had just had a nightmare she could tell because of the sweat on her forehead. Then she realized something odd, it was really cold and she wasn't on something soft. She then opened her eyes and looked around inspecting her surroundings. She was in a small cave and she was on the rock floor. She was still inspecting her surroundings when the question blared.
"How did you know my name?" asked a man leaned against the opposite wall.
Sybbyl jumped and replied. "I can't tell you I am sorry."
The man stepped forward and the moonlight illuminated his pale face.
"Dain I am sorry I just can't tell you." said Sybbyl.
"How." Dain's face immediately became stern.
His face frightened Sybbyl. She knew a lot about this man and did not like seeing him or making him mad.
"Tell me." Dain said getting closer to Sybbyl.
"No!" Sybbyl screamed as she tried to run.
As she turned she was immediately confronted by the image of Dain already being in place to intercept. Sybbyl knew she could not outrun Dain but maybe she could try some of the things the Coven had taught her.
Sybbyl concentrated on Dain. As he charged her in an attempt to tackle her she used her natural talent to send the stones surrounding the area in and around the cave catapulting towards Dain. She didn't want to hurt Dain she just wanted to deter him. The stone barrage worked and Dain stumbled back confused.
"If I tell you will you stop trying to kill me?" Sybbyl asked calmly.
"Yes." Dain replied bluntly.
"Then find some fire wood and light a fire, you may not feel the cold anymore but I sure do!" Sybbyl said as she sat down and proceeded to curl into a ball.
"First answers then you get your fire." Dain replied very sternly.
Knowing she wouldn't win an argument with the Morte before her she then replied with. "Fine there isn't a point arguing with the living dead."
He sat down beside her and blocked the wind from reaching her.
"So as you already remember you died when a Raider after raiding the The Wandering Siren inserted an ax into your back." Sybbyl said.
"Yes I remember." Replied Dain.
"Well one of the sisters pulled you from the fire and brought you before the Coven." Sybbyl stated.
"Wait what do you mean coven?" Dain inquired.
"That's a story for another day." Sybbyl said as she huddled beside Dain to help block the wind from reaching her lithe frame.
