I was laying down in bed, looking into my mattress. It was a difficult day in college and I'm tired as fuck right now.

I turned around and looked at the ceiling. But then my eyes srunched up when I saw a pink screen floating above my head.

Wut ?

I got up and looked at the screen. "What the hell is this ? A screen ?"

I tried to hold it but my hand passed straight through it. What is it ? A hologram ? But I didn't have any sort of holographic projector with me. So that's not possible. I then noticed the writings on it.

[Proper host has been chosen. All criteria have been met.]

Host ? What is this ? Some sort of parasite ?

I just stared at the floating pink screen in disbelief. What the hell is this ? Why is there a floating pink screen in front of my face ? Why is it calling me a host ? What the hell is "Because I Said So!" ? What's going on ? Am I still dreaming ? Did I fail college ? Is this real ? Am I real ? Did I touch grass ? Did my dad come back with the milk ? I don't understand what's happening!

I need to calm down. I looked at the screen, still feeling unsure. What does "Because I Said So!" even mean ?

["Because I Said So!": A special power that has been given to the host. This power allows the host to make any thought, wish or desire come true. It's essentially a narrative. It can override anything, all come under this power. Anything and everything can be made true by mere thoughts and desires of the host alone!]

...... is this for real ? Is this some sort of prank ? If so then they should have chosen a better time. For now, I'll humour this and just go with the flow.

"Oh that's funny. Can you stop time then ?" I joked.

But then the moment I said that, the world turned black and white. I widened my eyes when I saw the world's colour suddenly change. Everything was still. I looked around and saw no change. I looked outside the window and saw the cars and vehicles on the road were stationary. Even the people walking were not moving. I widened my eyes when I saw this.

"Wait...." I went back in my room and grabbed a pencil. I then dropped the pencil but it stopped midair. Holy shit! Time is really stopped!

I snapped my head towards the pink screen, which beeped.

[New skill acquired. {Time Stopping} has been integrated.]

Wha-?! This is?!!!

I stared in amazement. It's not a prank! This is actually real!

"Hold on. Can you answer my questions ?" I asked the hologram.

[I can, however I cannot speak.]

"Then... I want you to be able to speak. But only in my mind." I proclaimed and suddenly, I heard a voice in my head.

Very well then. If that is what the host wishes.

I could feel my mouth stretching into a wide grin and my eyes widened. This is actually fucking real!! This is awesome!!
