Hu! Hu! Hu! Hu!
In the foliage area of the Hakoniwa Academy campus, in between numerous bushes and trees was Zenkichi. He had taken off his jacket, left on the ground a few feet away from him, with only his polo shirt on he was punching and kicking a tree.
There was no technique or style, it was just simply straight unarmed attacks with only one goal- beat the ever living life out of the tree.
"What was that..." Zenkichi began to mutter as he raised his left arm back and punched the tree once more and then it cracked into a spiderweb pattern, with splinters of the bark flying out, it finally couldn't take it and the whole middle part of the tree shattered into pieces.
"Ha...Ha...Ha..." Zenkichi panted, sweat dripping down his face, his eyes looking dazed as he clenched his fists, that was unexpectedly completely fine. A testament to how strong he was.
'I needed twenty punches to shatter a tree that was four times my size.' He turned towards another tree, that was a bit bigger than the one he just destroyed, and went towards it as he passed by a few broken trees.
Breathing out, he entered into a combat stance with his left hand pulled back, a black metallic sheen started to cover his entire left forearm.
'Let's see how powerful my fist would be with "The Iron" coating it.' With that thought in mind, he punched the tree- and shattered it into pieces.
"One punch... You've gotta be kidding me." Zenkichi muttered out in surprise, his eyes set on his iron hand that shone under the sunlight.
'I don't feel my hand being heavy despite it becoming completely iron. Does it mean it doesn't become heavier? Or I just can't feel the weight of it? I have to find a weighing scale next to be sure.' He huffed and let his left arm fall to his side, the iron sheen becoming undone and his left forearm's flesh was seen once more.
"This should be enough experimenting, for now. Now what should I do for the rest of the afternoon? With Hiratsuka-sensei, Chabashira-sensei, and all called for a meeting, I've got the entire afternoon free." Zenkichi hummed as he went to pick his jacket, thinking of ways on how to pass the time until school is over.
Although he could try going home...but he'd have nothing to do and the space in the house was too small for him to practice Savate. So he'd just continue staying at school for a while.
'Its been two hours since my conversation with the president. I wonder what she's doing now?' Zenkichi thought mindlessly as he brushed the dust and leaves off his uniform jacket before wearing it over his shirt and turned around to walk out of the forest.
"Medaka-chan..." Zenkichi muttered out her name absentmindedly before shaking his head.
When he heard the reason of why Medaka wanted him to join the student council and then refusing to join her...it was to be expected.
Zenkichi is a person of two lives, one's past who had fragmented yet had many regrets and the other without any sort of ambition. He wanted to live this second life for his to the fullest and without leaving any regrets, starting by surpassing the girl that had always excelled on everything.
If he accepted her offer in that moment, he knew that there wouldn't be any change of their relationship.
Was it inferiority complex? Maybe. But at least it was a goal that no other person would ever think of doing. Zenkichi could at least hold that over them because he knew that despite their talk and accomplishments they'd think would put them at the same level as Medaka, they wouldn't even be close to 10% of her true strength.
And that's if she doesn't break her limits, again.
'Though, in the end, that just means I'm still chasing after her.' He let out a sigh as the wind blow past him.
