Chapter 7:Lost but found

They three corpers went numb as they stared with mixed feeling at their lost friends Essiele and Audu with the feelings of excitement and doubt for
they were scared that these people might not actually be their lost friends.
In the past few hours in the forest they had seen horrors that would last them a life time.
"Where have you been" Eyo broke the silence.
"After Charity's corpse um......you know,we got lost" Essiele said and slumps to the ground lazily.

"Am thirsty can I get some water". Audu said flashing his torchlight at his friends.
Ngozi stared at him cautiously  but Nnamdi sends an inconspicuous pinch on her arm, his eyes warned her not to act stupidly.

"We lost our backpacks in the other part of the forest" Nnamdi lied backing away as Audu approached his direction.

"Good thing Essiele didn't loose hers" Audu said in sarcasm.

"Akpan would never complain if he was here" Essiele growled from the ground in a low tone.

"About Akpan" Nnamdi said smacking his lips and licking it allover."Ngozi thinks he is the living ghost" He said suddenly feeling stupid because of how ridiculous what he said sounded.

"He is Mmang, the one who killed his friends" Eyo chipped in folding her hands.
"Huh" Essiele said and springs to her feet and looks around,afraid."You are lying".She didn't believe what he just said.

"He dropped his Journal and we went through it" Ngozi said tossing the journal at Essiele,while she dodges allowing the book to hit the ground.

"And?".She asked folding her arms.
What was Eyo aiming at now,for she knew Eyo never liked Akpan.
"He wrote some things down in Igbo and we found out he is living ghost" Eyo said picking the journal from the ground.

"So you read Igbo now". Essiele snickered rolling her eyes wearily.
For she would never believe Akpan could actually hurt anyone especially when it came from Eyo.

"I read it,and please stop being stupid" Ngozi said taking the book from Eyo and flipping the pages open.

"Believe it or not he killed Charity and probably will certainly come after us". Nnamdi said placing his hands on Essiele shoulder while she shrugged it off.

"Gu.....ys". Nnamdi called."Where is Segun". Nnamdi said from a distance.

"He went in search of food with Akpan and he hasn't gotten back since then" Essiele said less concerned,for she had more important things to think and not lost grown-ups.

"Check out the car chief had promised to buy me for my birthday" Eyo said showing Essiele a picture from her phone.

"It's that lexus 460". Essiele said her eyes widening in surprise.

"Please no one cares about your stupid car". Ngozi snorted rolling her eyes in disbelief at how they cared so much about a car when their lives where actually at stake.

"Oh my God".Audu exclaimed in surprise cupping his face with his hands."if Akpan is Mmang then Segun is in trouble".He said.

"We can't go in search of him". Eyo said fumbling her hands into the front pockets of her combat ."Because we don't know what exactly Akpan is capable of".She said sounding concerned.

"What are we going to do?". Nnamdi frowned standing akimbo.

"We just have to keep going,till we find our way". Ngozi said standing akimbo and facing the ground."Even if it means leaving Segun behind". She said biting her down lip.

"We can't go after Segun". Essiele declared folding her hands."We don't know if Mmang or Akpan has got to him first".She said while Nnamdi scoffs, looking away.
