On Saturday, I was awoken by my phone's ringtone.
Ugh, who is calling me this early in the morning? I thought to myself.
I reluctantly got out of bed and answered the call.
"Hello?" I sighed.
"Hey! Bree! I got a clue!!" Tiffany squealed.
"What?" I said, confused, "What are you talking about?" Why was Tiffany calling me this early!?!?
"Um, about my restaurant, remember?!"
"Oh...yeah that sorry I just woke up," I had totally forgotten about that already, "How did you find a clue so quickly?"
"Well, our shop has a keypad code that you have to use to get in. And I figured the robber must have used that to get inside because that's the only way they could have without breaking the window or something."
"Mhm," I nodded.
"So, I called around and found the keypad company nearby!'
"Wow, great work!"
"Thanks. But anyway it turns the manager is also a basketball coach!"
I laughed quietly, "Odd combination."
"I know right," She giggled.
"So, how does he connect to the robbery?"
"Well, if the robber would have wanted to break in, he would have had to found a way to..."
"OH! So if he wanted to get into the shop he would have had to found out how to hack in or whatever!"
"Yep, sadly."
"So, what does this mean for us?"
"Well although I found that he is a basketball coach..." She began.
"Sooo?"
"Jimin plays basketball..."
"Wha-" Then it occured to me what she was implying I do, "No, Tiffany."
"YES!" Tiffany insited, "You need to talk to him right? Well, this way you'll be helping me and yourself."
I groaned, "But! I don't have his number, I have never even talked to him before, what if I sound stupid. I CANNOT!"
"Ugh! You're so lame! I'll give it to you okay. Stop being so afraid for no reason."
I pouted, "I can't do this..."
"Well, too bad," She said, "Please just do it."
I sighed heavily, "Fine."
"Great, thanks so much, Bree!" Then she hung up.

By now I was wide awake. All my sleepiness had gone away with Bree's sudden command. I stood in the center of the room.
My head turned towards my clock, I wondered if Jimin was awake?
It was almost noon, I assumed that he probably was.
I looked down at my phone again and saw - with dread - that Tiffany had sent me Jimin's phone number. I groaned in misery.
It was sort of pathetic, I should have been happy to have my my crush's number, yet I was acting like it was the worst thing to ever happen.
Hesitantly, I opened up Tiffany's text and clicked on the number, then tapped on the option to call Jimin.
I sat on my bed, listening to the ringing of my phone against my ear. My arm was stiff and I held my breath. I couldn't believe what I was doing at that moment!
Then, the most unforgettable moment came:
"Hello?" Park Jimin spoke into the phone.
I could hardly breathe.
I didn't want to be rude so I said who I was, "Hi, it's Bree, Tiffany gave me your number..."
"What's up?" He asked.
"Um-" I stammered. My face was burning, he was probably so creeped out by the fact that I randomly got his number!!
He waited for my explanation.
I tried to stay as emotionless as possible, "Tiffany found a clue." I began.
"That's good! What is it?" Jimin said.
"Well," I forced myself to breathe normally, "We found out that..." I explained to him the whole situation with the keypad and how it related to basketball.
"So," He said, after listening, "You just need someone to help with the basketball aspect of it?"
"Yes," I said stiffly.
"Okay, let me know what you need me to do!" He said helpfully. I couldn't help but smile, he was so kind.
"Okay," I said cheerfully.
"I have to go but I'll see you," Jimin said.
"Oh- Alright" I said, my face hot.
"Bye, Bree," He said.
"Bye Jimin," I said.
He hung up. I took the phone away from my ear and held it in front of me. His unsaved number appeared on the screen and the counter of the time of the call was below it. I watched for a few seconds as the call was counted. Then I hung up as well.
I flopped back onto my bed, hugging my phone to my chest.
I sighed heavily. I was feeling a range of emotions that I couldn't quite untangle.
I couldn't bear pondering it alone any longer, so I forced myself up out of bed.
.
.
.
Of course, the short event wouldn't stay out of my mind throughout the day. I couldn't help but replay it over and over.
It was difficult to decipher.
It could mean that maybe I was simply inadequate in social relations or something. I got so easily flustered over a phone call after all.
That's the explanation I would have easily accepted if it would have been anyone else.
However, it was Park Jimin. And even though I doubted myself, part of me thought that maybe it all meant something.
Maybe it meant that something as simple as a phone call was something I became flustered over because with him, a phone call was more meaningful.
