The bright lights of the streetlights were making the walk home feel a bit safer. Not that he had a reason to worry out here, being tall and dark usually kept the lurking strangers out of his shadow and looking for someone much more easy to pick off. Though it did bug him that it would be easier for the nerd herd, as he liked to affectionately call Yugi's rag tag group of losers, to pick him out if they felt the need too.

But to Seto, the moment felt too calm for him to bother picking a fit or even humoring them tonight. The warm, murky air of the city warmed his stiff limbs from a long day working in their game lab, and all he really wanted to focus on was getting home. He knew Mokuba would be waiting for him, but since it was such a nice day and so difficult to hail a cab at this hour he decided he would just walk home. The streets were mostly empty, excusing the few night time walkers or bar hoppers that mostly kept to their own laugh hard, booze stinking groups. The moved his fingers in his coat pocket, feeling his sell phones smooth surface.

Suddenly the sound of a fist hitting something into a wall interrupted his thoughts, making hi shoulders jump lightly, in which he mentally scolded himself for. A gruff tone spoke something around the corner of an alleyway a few meters ahead, barely audible from where he was. He kept pace, hoping to walk past this mishap, though he stopped a few feet away when he heard a familiar voice.

"You ain't getting nothing from me pal! Punching me isn't going to get you anywhere either!"

Katsuya.

The name rung through his ears, fitting perfectly with the voice and making him inwardly cringe. He knew something was up tonight, it was too quiet and peaceful, something had to ruin it. But it just had to be Jonouchi, the most annoying of the bunch.

"You'll either hand that pretty little number over, or you'll regret it." The voice growled on, an almost musical giggle breaking smoothly after.

"Nah Kale, why don't we let him act up? I haven't had this much fun in a while." Another voice sneered, a woman this time with a smooth tone. Kaiba listened to the sound of Jonouchi's legs sliding against the floor as he struggled, presumably held in place. Kaiba held his breath, keeping his face stoic and dark as he stepped around and looked down the alleyway. Jonouchi was held to the wall by a man around a foot taller than Seto, round tough shoulders and looking like he could use a shower. A woman stood at his side, nicely dressed and thick built. Jonouchi was pinned to the wall by the man, a hand planted in the middle of his chest and a bruise forming around his right eye. The three looked up, shock flicking across Jonouchi's face while the others looked annoyed.

"Kaiba! Never thought I would see you around here." Jonouchi chuckled. Kaiba ignored his dumb remark since he knew Jonouchi knew he worked just down the street, addressing the two others head on.

"Don't you two have anything better to do than beat dogs and make such racket?" Kaiba called, Jonouchi getting a puzzled look for Kaiba standing up for him, though he stayed quiet.

"Beat it, kid. We've got more important things to do than humor spoiled brats." The woman growled, Kale giving him a sneer over his shoulder as Jonouchi tried to wiggle from his grasp.

"Its alright Kaiba, I've got this all under control." Jonouchi rasped as he pulled at the mans arm. His attempts were stopped when the man raised his arms out for a moment before pounding him back into the wall, hitting the air out of Jonouchi who broke out into a bought of coughs and stopped his struggles. Seto clenched his teeth, feeling annoyance in Jonouchi's acts though a bit surprised by his bravery. Jonouchi stifled his coughing, weakly wiping his mouth with the hand that covered it.

"These blockheads think they can get away with stealing my credit card." He explained with a snarl in his tone, the lady flicking it out between her fingers with a smile.

"And we will, because a dumb blond and a overgrown nerd don't have the balls to do anything about it." She laughed her other hand slipping out a knife from her coat pocket. Seto stiffened. This just got much more dangerous than he anticipated. The situation was bad enough with these goons assuming that Joey had any money in his bank account worth stealing, or better yet that their fox heart plan would work. His fingers twitched towards the phone in his pocket. He could call the cops right now, but would they really come in time? He eyed the girl who flicked the knife in her fingers. "Why don't you run along now? Keep your mouth shut, an nothing will happen to your little friend here."
