Daylight seeped through the thick red curtains. ow, aching pain still had its claws gripped around the side of Jonouchi's head and around his neck, but luckily it seemed to be a bit duller and farther away now. He pushed himself over on to his back, letting go out the pillow he had been hugging throughout the night. It was a weird habit, one that he couldn't exactly describe as "manly" but habits aren't exactly easily to break out of. He reached down into his pocket, the warm sleepiness of the bed still clinging on tight as he checked the time. Ten o'clock, not as late as he thought he would sleep in. He pushed himself up to a sit, letting small twinges of pain pass as he shook his head and stretched his arms and back. He had sent his sister a text last nigh alerting her that he hadn't died in an alleyway that night and he was somewhere safe, though he wouldn't tell her were at least he wouldn't have the cops on his tracks for no good reason other than an over worried sister.

Yawning, he pushed himself to his feet and stumbled over to the door. He cracked it open, peeking out into the hallway. A rush of chill hit him, shivering and longing quietly for Kaiba's coat once more. He gave himself a shake, pushing the thought back as he stepped out into the hallway. He took a wild guess and went towards the back, creeping past a bedroom and slipping into the bathroom. He was almost amazed with how clean and nice it was, glancing around at the nearly sparkling floor tiles and clean tub. Well, that's probably where all the money that kid gets goes. A few moments later Jonouchi slide out of the bathroom once more, glancing down the hall the opposite way from his room where he heard someone walking around. He nimbly picked his way down the hall, peeking around the corner into the kitchen.

"Oh! Hey Jonouchi!" Mokuba chimed. He stood in front of a waffle maker, steam rising and fading and warming up the part of the house.

"Hey kiddo! your big bro grumping about yet?" Jonouchi chuckled as he walked in and leaned against the door frame.

"Not yet, he doesn't work today so hes probably sleeping in." Mokuba giggled as he opened up the waffle iron. He slipped the puffed food on to a plate beside the machine before poring more batter into it. "I made you some waffles, they're sitting on the table." Mokuba explained as he shut the iron.

"Ah man really? Thanks pal" Jonouchi chuckled, patting Mokuba affectionately on the head as he stepped passed him towards the dinning room. He felt a chill run down his spine just as he was about to go through the small doorway, looking back over his shoulder. Kaiba's gaze was burning into his back, the two making eye contact for only a fleeting moment before Jonouchi scooted off into the dining room. He heard Mokuba greet his brother cheerily as he sat himself down, feeling slightly awkward now. Sure, he had eaten with Kaiba once before, though it was with several other people around and probably about ten feet away. Now he would be at least three feet away and armed with that embarrassing fight from yesterday. If he didn't lie about that went, he'd probably just tell everyone he was kicked be a horse. He picked up the fork sitting in front of him and decided to start eating anyways. He'd just stick it out, hopefully after he ate he could just slink on home and they could forget about all this.

He lifted his head as Mokuba entered the room with a hum, the cheery boy walking over and sitting at the head of the table. His older brother was quick to follow, looking unusually together for someone who just got up. Kaiba was such a weird kid. The three of them ate on in silence, though Mokuba brought up bits of conversation about work and such. Apparently Kaiba had been working at a game programing studio for quite some time now. sure beat his own job at the dumb convenience store. Well, old job, that was just the one he managed to keep longest.

He finished his food, wiping off his mouth carefully to not aggravate his cheek. Luckily the swelling had gone down, but he could see from the corner of his eye that the deep shade of purple would be sticking with him for a while.  He stood from his chair, giving a long yawn and a stretch.

"Well, I think I'll hop on home now. Really, guys, if theres anything I can do to pay you back, just say the word!" He chuckled with an awkward grin. Mokuba stood up too, finished with his meal.

"Its really no problem Jonouchi! It was nice having you." He beamed, Kaiba glancing up at Jonouchi also. He could feel the other boys hard stare burning into him, wondering silently if that would ever go away now as he avoided his gaze. Mokuba took away their plates into the kitchen as Kaiba stood up and motioned for him to follow. They two trailed over to the front door, Jonouchi bending down for a moment a slipping his sneakers on to his feet. He stood and saw Kaiiba watching him once more, this time with a thankfully softer gaze but it didn't change the feeling of it.

"Where I picked you up last night is straight down the block and then your third left." Kaiba explains to him, Jonouchi holding back a sigh of relief, glad that he didn't have any last minute take backs on the situation.

"Got it! The third left. Thanks a tone." Jonouchi smiled with a thumbs up.

The two locked gazes, Jonouchi staring into the dark blue eyes that met his own hungrily. He jerked his head to the side, brushing back his hair with his fingers with a chuckle to wipe away the situation. Kaiba placed a foot back, seeming to also realize how awkward he had made it. You could almost feel his embarrassment, though he kept his cool look as Jonouchi bent and tied his shoes quickly. Frsutration started to build as he stood back up. He knew that Kaiba had to want something, and now he knew that he would probably be scheming some way to cheat him out of his money and hold this dumb thing over his head.

"Look, buddy, if you want something, say so now before I get my own personal protection squad on your sorry but." He snapped, huffing as he kept his tone even but serious. To his surprise, Kaiba looked a bit taken aback, He glanced over his shoulder awkwardly, Jonouchi peeking around him with a questioning look as to what he was looking for. He turned back, his hair a gentle swish as he seemed indecisive for a moment.

"Well...?" Jonouchi questioned, feeling a bit of fear replacing his frustration. Was he gonna give him a good clock to the head or something? He wasn't sure if his skull was prepared to take anymore of a beating for a little while. His eye still ached, though he was still lucky to be able to see out of it. His attention was snapped back when Kaiba slowly stepped forward, placing his hands on Jonouchi's shoulders. Jonouchi flinched lightly in his grip and shut his eyes, knowing well that Kaiba wasn't one to get physical, but was also a surprising and unpredictable guy. What really caught him as unpredictable was when the brunette leaned in, tilting his heand a giving Jonouchi a peck on the corner of his mouth. His cool sent flowed over him, making his skin grow warm and his shock slowly ebb away. He let his eyes slide open once more, catching the deep blue eyes staring back at his own. Kaiba stepped back after a quick second, his arms retracting back into himself and looking almost like he had been slapped. Jonouchi stared on with confusion, still frozen in his spot with Seto's scent fading. He broke into a chuckle, making Kaiba look at him questioningly.

"You kiss like my mom." He laughed, Kaiba's expression changing quickly almost as if he had said the words; You prick! Jonouchi lightly stepped towards him once more. He had to balancing on his toes to reach Kaiba's face, pressing his lips to the others softly. Seto didn't pull back, leaning in slightly as he felt the warm velvet of his lips against the brunettes. They sat with their heads together, his lips moving over Seto's, praying that his own slightly chapped lips weren't a bother. He soon stood back on his feet once more, Kaiba's face dusted red and his gaze glittering.

"...so you..."

"Why don't we go out for lunch sometime?" Jonouchi inquired, a smirk spreading across his lips. He had been praying for this, Kaiba was a giant dick but there was something in his charm that sent him head over heels each shot. He wasn't sure how he'd break it to Yugi or the others, but weather they understood or not, it didn't bother him now. "Ah... it might have to be your treat. My credit card has recently gone missing." He shrugged with light chuckle. Kaiba smirked back, giving a small sigh and shake of his head.

"Alright. I guess that can be arranged." Kaiba responded with a small smile, one of an emotion Jonouchi believed he had never seen before. The boy gave him one final peck before turning off, Jonouchi slipping out the door and pating off down the sidewalk.

"Big brother? Whats taking so long?" Mokuba asked, giving Kaiba's shoulder a poke that almost made him jump out of his skin.

"Nothing, lets go relax."
