Tryouts

I stayed after school to watch boys football tryouts. I was thinking of trying out, but I wasn't sure if I'd be good enough. I shrugged at the thought and sat on the bench. A few seats over was a girl with dark hair about 3 inches below her shoulders. She turned around and I saw that it was Jordan. "Hey!" I said as I sat next to her. "Hey! Katie right?" She asked. "Yep." I replied, popping the p. We sat next to each other for tryouts when I saw someone take of their shirt to change into their jersey. Whoever it was, they had a really muscular back, one that I recognized. "Aye Katie stop drooling over 81." She said. I immediately turned a bright shade of red and went back to staring since I couldn't help myself.

As soon as I looked back, the person turned around. It was, of course, Matt. Why is everything in my life so predictable. I know that sounds like a question, but honestly, it's a statement. I also saw Cameron and Hayes over there, and Jordan started to drool. "Jordan's got a little crush..." I trailed off. She immediately snapped her head back to me and we started laughing like crazy.

I saw a blonde girl run up to Cameron and jump into his arms. "Who's that?" I asked curiously. "That's my best friend who's honestly a giant pussy when it comes to sports, Kayleigh Mendoza." She said. After releasing Cameron, Kayleigh walked over to Jordan and sat down. "Hey Jordan. Who's this?" Kayleigh asked. "I'm Katie, nice to meet you." I said before Jordan could reply. "Oh hi I'm Kayleigh. So how did you guys meet?" I explained the whole 'football in the head' incident to her, and how I was with Cam while it happened so she knew that I was friends with him for reassurance.

We exchanged numbers and I waved goodbye to both of them. While I was walking I was on my phone, not paying any attention to what was in front of me. Stupidly, I bumped into someone. "Oh I'm sorry I didn't see you th-....Katie?" They said. I looked up at who it was and saw that it was Taylor. "Hey Tay Tay." I said, joking with him.

"Don't call me that!" He said, sounding like a five year old. "What are you doing here?" He asked me. "Um I was watching tryouts? Duh. Why else would I be here?" I replied.

He shrugged and we walked off together. He walked me home and we talked about the most random things. "Hey text me later Kay Tay?" He said. "Okay Tay Tay byeeee." I said as he walked me up to my doorstep. I saw Matt walking into his house looking down. I wonder why?
