The dog demon lay on his back on the grassy hill, looking up at the dawn sky. The sun was rising steadily up into the bright blue. He sighed. Life certainly had been good since the group of friends had destroyed the accursed Shikon Jewel for eternity.

"Inuyasha!" A cute girl called up to him, the wind softly blowing her hair out behind her. Raising his head, Inuyasha watched her approach.

"What's wrong, Kagome?" Inuyasha asked, concerned. The girl smiled. Not a thing. She held his hand, and together, the two returned home.

"That was delicious." Inuyasha mused, his stomach full after the breakfast his spouse had prepared. Kagome smiled gratefully.

"Good" She replied. All was well.

"Im going out." Inuyasha announced. Kagome nodded.

"Im coming with you." She stated firmly, her mind absolutely made up. Inuyasha laughed.

" I can never go anywhere without you tagging along." He rose to his feet, and Kagome followed, the two walking side by side, arms linked. As they walked across the wide grassy plains, a dark shadow flashed above them quickly.

Inuyasha and Kagome looked up in alarm. There was nothing in the air, the sky was clear and bright.

"Did you see that." Kagome said softly, her eyes narrowing in concentration as she looked around. Inuyasha nodded once, and drew the Tetsusaiga, the sword grew to its full height with a soft whoosh of air.

"You might not want to do that." A female voice sounded from behind them.

Inuyasha and Kagome spun around to face a girl with white robes and a white hood covering her head and shading most of her face.

"If you don't tell me who you are, you might not be alive for much longer." Inuyasha snarled, he held the Tetsusaiga close to the girl's neck. Her expression didn't change, but she gently touched the sword and moved it away from her throat.

"Thanks, but I cant afford to die anytime soon." She growled back. "I come with an urgent message. A danger from my town has been spreading. We need your help."

"And why should I help you?" Inuyasha asked, returning the Tetsusaiga to its position against the girl's neck. She glared intensely into Inuyasha's eyes.

"If you do not help to get rid of this evil, we may all die." She looked around. "This beautiful land would be changed. A land of Ash and flame. Barren of all life except for the fiercest of demons. A danger that would destroy all that we know."

"Inuyasha..." Kagome began. Inuyasha growled softly, but lowered the Tetsusaiga and returned the sword to its sheath.

The mysterious woman sighed thankfully. " Im so glad you have had a change of heart. " She explained. "I will show you the way to-"

"No" Inuyasha cut in before she could finish. The girl's eyes changed to an expression of burning silver fire for a moment, but Inuyasha finished. "First, I must ask my friends if they would join us."

Kagome looked up at him with joyful eyes. The cloaked girl's eyes returned to normal, and she nodded. When she spoke again, her voice had become looser, not stiff and stern as it had been before. She now sounded like the young girl that she appeared to be.

"Thank you so much!" She bowed, speaking gratefully. " I will wait for you to gather your allies." Kagome could tell that the girl was smiling, which made her smile as well.

"We will meet you here soon." Inuyasha explained. Kagome climbed onto his back, and Inuyasha sped towards the town where Miroku and Sango lived.

The stranger stood alone on the windy hills, and looked of into the distance from where she had come. The sun shining brightly on her white robes.  She whispered quietly into the breeze. " we will finally be together."
