Surprise ( Chapter 1)

"What!?" Miroku exclaimed, rising to his feet. "Why?" He asked, a look of worry now spreading across his face. Inuyasha shrugged, looking down towards the floor.

"I was wondering the same thing." He said quietly, his voice tense. Kagome held his hand.

"We will help though." She explained, determined to do the right thing. "If we dont, people will die. You want to keep yuor family safe dont you?" She said, looking down at Hoseki, Usagi, and Kohitsuji, Miroku's 7 year old twin daughters and 3 year old son.

Miroku sighed, and rubbed his daughters heads. The two girls stood up straight.

"Daddy, we want you to help." They said at the same time. "We want you to keep our brother safe." They looked down at their small sibling with a caring look in their eyes. Inuyasha put a hand on his hip. "Ha!" He laughed, and curled his fist in front of his face. "Lets go kill some demons." He grinned.

After they had finished gathering their weapons and armor, Sango handed off her children to Kaete.

"Please," She said softly. "Keep them safe." Kaete nodded in agreement.

"Of course." She nodded to the party as they turned to leave.

"Good luck!" The twins called, waving. Sango had a solemn look on her face as she waved back, then she turned and followed the others.

"Shippo!" Inuyasha called as they reached the small fox demons home.

"Oh, Kagome!" Shippo shouted happily and leaped into her arms. Kagome laughed.

"Hi, Shippo!" She smiled. Inuyasha whacked Shippo's head.

"Im the one who called you, you little furball." He growled. Shippo laughed.

"Good to see you guys. Why are you here?" He questioned curiously. Inuyasha lowered his gaze and bared his teeth as he told Shippo about what was happening.

"Hmm." Shippo put his hand on his chin in thought. "I'll join you guys."

"So will I" The friends turned to see a boy standing in the doorway.

"Kohaku!" Sango rushed over to the boy and embraced him. Then she pulled back. "Its been four years since I saw you, brother." She said happily, a tear slowly flowed down her cheek. Kohaku smiled.

"Its good to see you too." He said. Kirara, a small cat demon jumped forward, cooing excitedly.

"Kirara!" Sango hugged the small cat. Inuyasha was looking lively again.

"Allright!" He grinned. "We're all back together again! " He picked up Kagome. "Lets go."

The others following closely behind, they soon approached the cloak female once more. She turned to face them, and her gaze slowly swept over the group.

She nodded with approval.

"A nice group you've got there." She smirked. "We had better be on our way."

Starting off, they followed the white robed girl. She led them to a commonly used path, but stopped in her tracks.

"Going this way could be gravely dangerous." She said softly, looking towards the ground. "Are you all prepared to face enemies this early on in the journey?"

Inuyasha scoffed, a grin spreading across his face.

"We will always be ready!" He exclaimed. Kagome smiled, and nodded her agreement.

"Im ready too!" Shippo laughed. "Im prepared to fight!"

The white robed girl smiled. "Im glad." As they trekked on, everybody's spirits were high. They were all ready to face the long journey ahead.

The sun shone high above their heads, the heat of the day was just stating to peek around the corner.

Inuyasha panted heavily. "Its so hot today.." He sighed, squinting up at the sky.

Suddenly, a screech sounded and the ground shook violently.

The white robed girl cursed. "its a Gosuto-Kage!" She put her arm over her face. "Everyone!" She shouted over the noise. "Cover your your nose, and mouth! If you get any of the poison in your body, you will ge-" She let out a scream as the shadow demon swept down and struck a blow to her stomach.

She fell to the ground with a thud, blood spurting from the gaping wound.

"No!" Sango shouted, leaping forward. Kagome gasped.

"Sango!" Her speech was muffled through her sleeve. "You'll be poisoned if you use your hands to fight! "

Sango shook her head. "You have forgotten my friend, Demon Slayers have poison masks!" She let out a yell, then grabbed her weapon. "Boomerang Bone!" She shouted, flinging it straight towards the shadow.

"Yes!" Shippo exclaimed. "Direct Hit!" But the bone did not hit the shadow ghost. It cut through the shadowy figure, but left no trace of any harm.

"What!?" Sango was in complete disbelief. Her confusion left an opening, and the shadowy creature now sped towards the demon slayer.

"Sango!" Miroku shouted. "Get your boomerang bone back! I have an idea!"

Sango nodded. "Aye!" With a short shout, she dodged the figure, then lunged forward, grabbing her weapon.

"Now!" Miroku continued. " Throw it!" Sango wrenched her arm back quickly, then flung the bone with all her might.

"Yes!" Miroku then threw several sutras at the Boomerang Bone. They landed on the weapon, which now sparkled with power.

Sango threw her fist into the air happily. "Yes!!" She shouted, as the boomerang bone destroyed the shadow ghost's body from the inside out. Theboomerang bone made its way back to sango, who caught it. It threw her backwards and her feet left short skid track in the dirt.

Miroku, Sango, and Kohaku cleared the air of the poison.

"everyone!" Kagome exclaimed as she kneed by the injured mystery girl's side. "Come here!" The all rushed over.

"What is Kagome?" Inuyasha asked. They were all silenced by shock.

"What...?" Sango whispered.

"Unbelievable...." The group stood over the girls injured body. Blood still gushed from the hole in her abdomen. She was still alive.

"I- I-Im s-s-so sorry." She struggled to move her arms.

"No!" Kagome ordered. "You shouldn't move!" She tried to stop the girl, but the stranger slapped kagome's hands away. She continued to raise her arm shakily until they were up by her hood.

Slowly, she removed it, revealing long silver hair, and two silver ears. She gasped in pain. Lowering her arms, she looked up at Inuyasha.

"Only you can help me." She whispered. "Please.....Brother."
