Pairing: Marko x Y/N
Summary: *Y/N gets sick, and Marko takes care of her*
Y/N's POV
I wake with a groan, looking around at my surroundings. "Ugh," I hold a hand to my head. My forehead is burning hot, and my throat is sore, and I have acing bones.
Doesn't take a genius to figure out what's going on.
I sigh, shutting my eyes and burying myself under my blanket. I don't even know what time it is, and honestly? I don't care.
About five minutes pass and I'm asleep, before I hear the loud SMACK of feet landing on stone.
"Y/N? You still here?" I can't see who it is, but I know it's Marko just by his voice.
I groan, not speaking because it hurts.
Marko walks up to my side, and I can see him through my blanket. "Y/N?" He lowers the blanket to see my sweaty face. "Are you okay?"
"Just...dandy," I croak, weakly giving him the thumbs up. He doesn't buy it.
He puts his hand against my forehead. His touch is extremely cold, and I hiss a little.
"You have a fever," he says.
Well, obviously.😒
He looks at me. "How long have you been sick?"
"I just found out this morning," I whisper, shielding my eyes from the light. Even though were in a cave and it's not that bright, it still stings.
He purses his lips, stepping back.
"Where are the others?" I ask, noticing that it's the most quiet today then it has been...like, ever.
Marko turns away and jumps down. "David and the guys went to the boardwalk."
"Why didn't you go?" I ask.
"Well, I was on my way, but then I saw you." He looks through some drawers before pulling out a pile of wallets that they've stolen from there...well, 'dinners'.
He goes through everyone of them, grabbing every single cent and dollar he can find.
"What are you doing?"
Marko stuffs the bills in his pockets. "You need medicine. So I'm going to get you some."
I'm about to say that he doesn't have to, that maybe Star could when she comes back, but he gives me a look that says he's not taking no for an answer.
I sigh, laying back down. "Okay."
He walks towards the exit. "Don't go anywhere."
I almost do a sarcastic laugh. "Where can I go?" I shout-ask.
"You know what I mean Y/N!" He calls, voice echoing through the cave.
And then...it's silent.
I stare up at the stone ceiling. Not much I can do, so I shut my eyes and try to get some rest.*Meanwhile*
Marko's POV
I pull up into the parking lot and shut my motorcycle off. David's gonna give me crap for not joining them tonight, but I can't just let Y/N sit there sick with no medicine.
I walk into the local store, and instantly people are glaring.
Yeah, I don't have a good reputation around Santa Carla. But honestly? I don't care. This isn't about me tonight, it's about Y/N's health.
I approach the RX. "Hey, can you tell me where you keep your-"
"I told you not to come in here anymore," the man interrupts, mean mugging me.
I roll my eyes, folding my arms on his counter. "Is that anyway to treat a customer? You sir, are not a good employee."
"You're not welcome here," he reaches underneath the counter like he's gonna press the security button, but I stop him.
"Okay okay okay. Look, I just need some medicine. My friend's sick."
He raises an eyebrow. "You have friends?"
Ugh...this *bleep*ing man.
"Come on, just show me where it is, and I'll be out of your hair."
I can see it in his eyes that he doesn't want to, but he sighs and points.
"Go right down there."
I smile. "There, was that so hard?" I back up and walk to where he's pointing, but underneath his breath I hear him say. "Piece of shit."
For a moment, I begin to feel my fangs explode in my mouth. But I stop. No, don't do it. Not now...
I sigh, and grab the medicine. I walk away quickly, passing through a ton of aisles, before something catches my eye.
The flowers.
There are tons of them, sunflowers, roses, lilacs, all different smells and colors.
I stop and stare at them all. Thoughts of Y/N pass through my head.
She loves flowers, I think, but what's her favorite?
I don't know how long I stand there, but long enough to have someone approach me?
"Anything you like in particular?" A woman asks, smiling softly.
I jolt out of my thoughts, and by the sudden kindness from a stranger. "Oh! Um, well, my friend Y/N is sick right now, and I wanted to get her a flower to cheer her up."
She 'awws' quite loudly. "That is so sweet of you! You have a kind heart."
Yep. She is DEFINITELY new here.😂
She walks over to the flowers and picks a rose. The fattest, and reddest rose in the entire bunch.
"I'd give her this one."
"Why?" I ask, taking it.
"Because," she grins, "I can see from the way your cheeks blushed when you mentioned her name that you like her."
Great...
I'm embarrassed by this, but I thank her and walk away, continuing my search for things for Y/N.*Later*
Y/N's POV
"Hey, I'm back." Marko climbs down and walks to me, bag in hand. "I got you some stuff for your throat."
I open my eyes slowly, watching him take everything out of the bag.
"What? No Chinese food today?"
"When your all better, I'll get you some. For now though, eat this." He passes me a cup full of hot steaming soup.
My eyes widen. "Where did you get all this?"
"Grocery store," he says, "go on, take a drink. You gotta have something in your stomach before you take this stuff."
Slowly, I raise it to my lips and take a small drink. It burns my tongue slightly, but it feels good running down my throat.
"Mmm, that's good."
"Glad you think so," he opens the jar of medicine and takes a sniff, instantly gagging and doubling over.
I laugh. "Seriously?"
"Ugh that smells nasty! God I'm so happy I'm a vampire. I don't ever have to worry about getting sick." He passes it to me. "I suggest plugging your nose."
I take the bottle, and like a champ, I gulp it down. Didn't flinch, didn't gag.
He shakes his head. "You love to outdo me, do you?"
"Absolutely," I giggle before coughing.
He puts a rag to my head, and when his body turns I see a flower on the table.
"What's that?" I ask. He looks. "This is for you," he hands it to me, "I didn't know what kind you like, but I think roses are everyone's favorites."
I take it, and smell it's scent.
I stare at Marko. His back is to me now, but my heart flutters a little.
He got me a flower...a flower that symbolizes love.
Does he know that? No, I don't think he does.
"Marko?"
"Hmm?"
"Do you know what the rose means?" I ask, swallowing. He shakes his head. "No."
"They mean love," I say, gently touching it's petals.
I can't see it, but his body tenses, and eyes widen.
I smile. "They're very romantic."
"Yeah well," he clears his throat, "I wanted to make you smile and-"
"I love you."
He stops, and stares at me. "What did you just say?"
I giggle. "I said I love you."
He doesn't say anything, his face scrunched up in disbelief.
To be honest, I've loved him for a long time. But I've been to scared to say it. In a way, this little flower gave me the courage.
"Do you love me?" I ask.
He swallows. "Y/N, I-" he stops, runs a hand through his hair, then speaks. "Yeah, I do."
My heart flutters.
I smile softly, and so does he.
"Get some rest," he says, walking towards the exit. "We'll discuss this some more later."
He runs out, but I for a second, I thought I heard him scream "YES!"
I giggle, letting my eyes close.Thxs for reading! Sorry it was so long lol!
