*Shawns POV*

"Hey hottie!" I heard a guy howl at Drew.

I scoffed and kept walking past them.

"What's up your ass?" Gilinsky asked catching up with me.

"I'm calling off the plan, it's not fair to her"

He nodded.

"Good choice bud" he said slapping my shoulder.

Drew departed from Tabbitha when Gilinsky began to walk with her.

"Ow ow, come here baby" another guy called to Drew slapping her butt.

She jumped and began to walk fast. I walked up to the guy taking him in my hands slamming him against the lockers.

"Touch her again and I'll kill you" I said clenching my teeth.

I straightened my jacket and began to walk behind Drew in the distance so she wouldn't notice. I know she'll flip if I tried to protect her, but I can't help it I love her. I don't know what it is about her, but I do. I sat in my seat behind her and watched as the teacher began to mess around in her desk.

"I'm sorry class but I'll be right back I forgot my keys at home, please don't say anything to the principal I'll be back in 20 minutes" she said in a trusting tone.

She ran out of the class locking the door and covering the window. everybody began to talk and play on their phones.

"Aye shawn you wanna bounce?" Matt asked.

I looked at Drew as she played around with Tabbitha.

"Nah man I'll stay" I replied looking at my confused group of friends.

"Awe is Mendes going soft" Cameron said slamming his hands against the table.

"I'm not going soft get the fuck out of my face Dallas" I said standing taller then him.

He put his hands up in defense. they headed out and Tabbitha tagged along with Gilinsky leaving Drew and I alone.

"Can we talk?" She asked turning around.

I shrugged and she turned all the way around.

"So um I'm confused, do you really love me?" She asked grabbing my hands.

I looked at her hands then back up at her nervous. I sighed and shook my head.

"I don't know, i thought I did but if you don't I don't want to try anymore because it's killing me" I said.

She nodded and sighed.

"Shawn, I like you you're a really good friend but-"

"Friend? Friends don't fuck around like we do Drew" I said angered.

She looked around at everyone and sighed.

"I know and that's why we can't be together" she replied. "but I think we need to stay friends, maybe my feelings will come around for you"

"No cause mine are gonna be gone by the time you feel and I can't have you be heartbroken like me" I said passionately.

"How do I know if you're just playing me?"

"Well to be honest with you, it was just a game but when I saved you and we did it together I felt so good and trust me it wasn't just the sex" I chuckled in a low tone.

She blushed a little looking down in embarrassment.

"I felt like a connection with you and I don't know if I wanna be with you but I wanna love you"

She smiled

"You can love me but you don't want to be with me?" She asked confused.

I shrugged.

"Love wise we click, relationship wise we dont"

That sounded bad. she's never gonna understand.

"Right well that's what I thought people do when they're in love is be together?"

"But you said you didn't love me?" I asked.

"I don't have time for this it's almost lunch time and I'm done talking to you about love that you can't carry or keep throughout your life" she said grabbing your purse.

"But-"

"But what? what if we got married and you decide you don't love me anymore, who the hell does that?"

"Woah who said anything about marriage"

"It was just an expression you asshole" she said walking out of the classroom.

"Look, I'm sorry"

"Sorry for what?" She asked.

"Sorry for telling you I liked you because that's not true. I ache for you" I said grabbing her arm aggressively.

"You don't even know how to speak to someone how could I ever love you" she said that made me cringe.

She ran out to her car and drove away instantly.

"You're an idiot Shawn" I heard Tabbitha.

"How?"

"She'll never have feelings for you because how could anybody love you, you're selfish, rude, and have no respect" she said putting her lip gloss on. "Drew has high standards not just looks wise, might I add"

I nodded.

"Right well she doesn't love me so why should I try to win her?"

"She likes your determination but you're not showing it correctly, she'll come around Mendes"

She left outside leaving me alone and confused.
