Kuro POV
It's been a couple of years since I had freed Kal'tsit, or as I have affectionately, much to her dismay, call her, Kal. Currently we are trying to topple down this kingdom that Kal said is said to deal in the slave trade of infected and the race of bear people known as the Ursus.
Kuro: So, why exactly are we doing this? As far as I'm concerned the whole slave trade of the infected is pretty normal around Terra, isn't it?
Kal: Well, as you know, this kingdom not only has the slave trade, but is also notoriously known for being corrupt and anyone who has tried to protest are immediately hunted down by Sarkas mercenaries hired by the king. So getting rid of the king and replacing him with someone who could properly run the kingdom would be for the better of not only the kingdom, but also for Terra.
Kuro: Seems like a lot of trouble. Alright, but remember what my-
Kal: Yes yes, I understand your silly little rules for asking for your help. But I do not think I would need your help for this, compared to what I've done and to what has led to me asking for your help before, this is fairly simple.
Kuro: ......Not a lot of people can say they can more or less assassinate and replace a king easily. Regardless if you think you won't need my help at least a little for this that's fine, but let's make a little bet.
Kal: .....These types of bets usually end with me losing and doing something rather embarrassing, but I stand firm that I do not need your help for this. But, do not use your clairvoyance to see what happens.
Kuro: Alright alright, I won't.
Kal: Good, then if I do not need or ask for your help during this entire operation, then *blushing* you need to become my butler for a week. If I do, somehow, end up needing or asking for your help, then *blushing even harder* I-I'll become y-your maid for a week. How is that?
Kuro: *whistle* Wow, taking the reins huh? Alright then, I accept these conditions Kal.
As Kal turned to face me I could see the extremely red blush she was trying to hold in, but what caught my eye the most was the small smile she gave me. That smile made my heart skip a beat. Now, you may be asking yourself, how exactly does a being as powerful as I fall for a pretty lynx with the most basic level of immortality, well after traveling with her for so long, and helping her develop a personality and mature, I may or may not have fallen for the white-haired lynx. Anyway, as we traveled up the path to enter the kingdom, we could see a group of infected ursus tending to a farm just outside the city walls. It was obvious that they were slaves because of the collar around their necks, seeing this made Kal reasonably angry.
Kal: ......Why must they do this?
Kuro: *sigh* It is in the nature of those with free will to try to oppress those who they feel are different then them. That is the harsh truth of this existence.
Kal looked at me, thinking about my words.
Kal: .......I see.
We walked past the group of ursus and walked into the kingdom. We walked until we made it to a high point where we could see most of the kingdom from where we stood. It was apparent that corruption was strong here, the slums and where the elites live was separated by a stone wall. There seemed to be a gate that had several guards protecting it. So getting into the inside where all the nobles and the king possibly live will be difficult. I can sense that Kal might want me to stay back so she can go scout out where the king might live. So I just sat down on the ground and sighed.
