Fun fact: Peridot is a green crystal with colors ranging from yellow-green to olive green and dark green. Peridot is a prized gemstone known for its summer spirit, its good-luck vibes, and its uncanny ability to keep you calm and feeling safe no matter what is going on around you. For as long as Castiel knew he'd loved Dean. Ever since he raised him from hell and put him back together. He fell in love with the broken soul he once held in his hands. Dean's soul was nowhere near perfect but Cas had seen all of it, good and bad. And it hurt to know what Dean thought of himself when Castiel knew it wasn't true. If only Dean could see him the way he did. There were no words to describe him. Not even in Enochian. Every time he would try to describe his beauty he would fall just short of it. He could look at the man forever. That flawed, beautiful man he longed to call his. He knew what Dean thought of himself and how it ate at him inside. But the hunter would never tell anyone. Not even his own brother. It had been so engrained into his brain to keep his feelings to himself that Dean rarely ever let anyone catch him vulnerable. That is until Sam ended up in the hospital after a hunt. Sure Sam and Dean had had their fair share of hospital visits but it was bad this time. Lucifer had tormented Sam. Gotten in his head. Exploited his weaknesses. Sam hadn't slept for days and after he got caught off guard by a couple of werewolves, and was now in the hospital hanging by a thread. They had gotten him pretty bad before Dean had been able to reach him. And now his little brother was lying in the hospital slowly coming off the verge of death. Castiel has gotten pretty good at reading Dean over all the years he'd known the hunter and he knew it was killing him. He blamed himself for not getting to him in time. If Dean could go back in time and change things Castiel knew he would. Castiel and Dean were at the bunker the day after Sam was attacked. The hunter was in his room if Castiel had to guess, and he was doing some reading of the old books they had on hand. Cas looked up as he heard shuffling footsteps headed towards his place in the kitchen. Dean met Castiel's eyes for a brief moment before turning back towards the fridge where he got out a cold beer. Castiel noticed dark circles under puffy red eyes. Dean rarely cried and when he did it enough to where you could see evidence of it then you knew it was bad. He most likely hadn't slept the previous night either. Dean didn't acknowledge Cas as he went back to his room. Castiel wasn't sure if he should check on Dean or not. He knew now was a sensitive time for the hunter but it hurt him to see Dean treat himself this way. Castiel made up his mind and gently knocked on the door.
"Come in." Dean called with a tired voice.
Castiel slowly opened the door to see the hunter on the foot of his bed with empty beer bottles scattered on the bedside tables. Dean looked absolutely exhausted.
"Are you ok Dean?" Castiel asked tentatively.
"I'm fine, just tired." Dean answered.
"Dean-"
"I said I'm fine Cas, just leave it alone."
Castiel's heart squeezed painfully in his chest. He knew something was wrong, why wouldn't Dean just talk to him?
"Ok but get some sleep I can tell you're tired."
Castiel sighed as he left the hunter to the quiet of his room. Cas tried to return to reading but he couldn't help but worry about Dean. Dean was one of the strongest people he knew but even he couldn't handle the stress put on him right now. If he continued to pile things on it would only be a matter of time before he breaks. Castiel had been sitting in the kitchen for a couple hours before the sound of sniffling alerted him. Dean was crying. Castiel decided that even if the hunter got mad at him he was going to help him through this. Because if someone didn't Dean would run himself into the ground and get caught off guard on a hunt like Sam did. If his powers weren't failing him he could have healed Sam. He walked to Dean's door and softly knocked.

The way I see you
