My original idea for the first concept of this story is published on my account. Please don't read it, it's so chaotic. I'm kidding. If you'd like you could always come back to this one and see how much i've improved.
This is a revised and better version of that story, please show this one much love like the other one. I say revised but I truly mean different or I guess, Better. Some part of me is cringing for writing the original story so...horribly. But another part of me is very proud of writing that version although I did write it during high school. Ew.
When I first wrote the first draft back in 2019 I wanted to continue the story(as i've previously stated) that had been on screen into words. I had such a huge HUGE phase for all things supernatural. (Not the Winchester show, sorry.)
Little backstory: I have always loved horror and all things creepy but i'm still a wuss. I used to love creepypastas and urban legends from different cultures especially Mexican folklore. (I'm mexican so that tracks. My latinos RISE!) When I was a kid I would watch the show and the movie nonstop all the time. I had such an attachment to it that there was always a character I really associated myself with, That character waaaaas: Ethan Morgan; The Seer.
Ethan was one of those characters where I was like, "He is so cute. Wait..i'm a guy am I suppose to say that? It doesn't matter I want to hold his hand." It wasn't until I started writing the story while rewatching the show during Freshmen year that I also felt attraction towards Benny and Rory too. At this point in my life i wasn't 10 daydreaming about handholding dates with Ethan but 14-15 already knowing I liked guys. Anyway, sexuality aside. It's not truly important but it's good to get to know to author sometimes, y'know? Okay. You get it, I really liked Ethan as a character. He was kind, nerdy and always wanted to help fix all the messes that Benny or the supernatural beings made. He was a geek and a nerd. Like me.
Going back to what I was explaining earlier, I wanted MBSAV to have a better ending. Truly. In the end, I did manage to give it a good ending where everyone wins in the end. (with a spin-off book of Rory going to Japan which I unpublished cause it wasn't doing good + writer's block. Fun.) I added original characters and backstories and I put a queer twist to it. Obviously, have you seen my account. Anywho, not so long ago I reread my old stories. Even the ones on paper. Some of them dating back up to middle school. We don't talk about that.
And so, for the original story I didn't really have a format or a plan.
I just ... made it up as I wrote. For this one, I bookmarked writing tips, saved youtube videos on how to write great fics. I even dedicated my time to 4hrs of commentary analysis of My Babysitter's a Vampire. Two Separate videos. ( I will tag my sources for other writers who plan to make fanfiction of the show.)
I even rewatched a couple episodes and analyzed the characters distinctively. Truly, my intentions are to make this book improved (not perfect but improved) and hopefully to shine a perspective on my growth as a writer. Know that I'm doing this for not only myself but others who might like to learn the lesson taught in this story.
Now, the big question some of you may be wondering: Why rewrite this story in particular? Well, the truth is, at the time, it was my most read story. So, yeah I felt the need to rewrite this one because I LOVED it. I was so proud and in love with this book that i remember crying because it did so well when I published it. Now, another one of my books(Wyatt one-shots) did even BETTER. I believe it has 20k ? I am so proud of that one as well because it is so so gay and so camp. My stories are NOT perfect, they may have some typos & continuity errors but I love them dearly. So, I hope (truly,truly hope) that you all enjoy this version as well.
If this does well maybe i'll rewrite or continue my other works. Push me hard enough and you might motivation me to continue "works that were killed by writer's block."
