I told my mom I was gonna go out with my friends but I had different ideas and plans. I wanted to go see the crime scenes for myself. I wanted to see if the police missed anything because it feels like they have not tried since they were teenagers. I went to the lake first where Brian was since he was the first one, I hoped there would be something there to help. I looked all around at the ground and found absolutely nothing until I saw very faint footprints. I followed them until it took me to the side of the road. I kept going back and forth with the footprints to see if they meant anything. I noticed that where the side of the road and the ground met it looked like there were some drag marks and then it turned into regular footprints. I got closer to the prints and I realized there is more than one set of footprints. It's hard to tell when not close because one footprint is only an inch or so shorter and the footprints are barely faint.
Why would there be more than one footprint when the police said it was a suicide? There would only be one set right? I went to the woods where Jessica was found, which wasn't far away from where Brian was found either. Why would Jessica do it close to Brian's death? They still had both Brian and Jessica's scene taped off so I was able to find where it was at. When I got to the scene that was taped off I looked all around. You could see where her body was because of the leaves and mud. I saw the tree that hangs above and decided to climb it to see if there was anything up there since that would be how she could commit suicide with a rope. When I got up there I looked at the branch that hung above the scene and there was nothing. No mark of rope. No crack in the wood. Nothing at all. The branch was not big, it would have snapped or at least cracked. There was nothing.
I went back home to think it through and write down everything I found. I called Justin to see if he could come over and help me make sense of this because me and him were the closest and he grew up learning about mysteries and murders and he would be the best for this. He agreed to come over and help me. Once he got here I told him everything. He looked shocked actually. "You shouldnt be doing this and the police ruled it out as suicide, you shouldnt push it any further or you might get in trouble." "Justin, this is the first time in weeks I am thinking of something for the newspaper. It only makes sense to write about it too since it is for the town. I know the police aren't doing enough or hiding something. The deaths aren't right. There's nothing right about it. I need to do this, for me and the town. Please help me, Justin." He looked like he was fighting with himself about what to do. "Okay fine, but if this goes nowhere or you get in trouble I'm gonna tell you I told you so." "Thank you, thank you, thank you, I need your help." "Alright let's get started, tell me everything you know and think." It took around an hour for me to tell him everything I thought and knew. He left after we agreed to meet tomorrow at the crime scenes again to go over everything.
