A/N: My face watching Avengers Age of Ultron.
--------
"Wait, where are you guys going?!" Evangeline asked when she walked into the meeting room, seeing the Avengers all packed and dressed ready for their mission.
Steve attached his shield to his back and grabbed her shoulders, bending down to reach her eye level, "We're going on this mission, don't worry. We have this under control."
While he was talking to Evangeline, Clint was eyeballing them making sure nothing happened to his baby girl. Thor and Daphne were in the other side of the room joking to release the tension of having to leave each other. Sure, Jane was great but there was something special about Lady Daphne that seemed far more interesting. It's not really cheating since they haven't done anything...what was considered cheating in the human world? Thor thought to himself.
"Just promise me that you guys will come back safe, alright?" Evangeline asked, giving up trying to convince them not to go. They were superheroes for pete's sake. That was their job!
"We'll be fine sweetheart. We should be back in no time." Clint spoke up, making her relax to know that it wasn't a really long mission.
"Where are you guys going again?" She asked, planning to go and help out a bit. Evangeline had been practicing her powers and found that along side of manipulating time, she has a form of telekinesis. It's not quite mastered yet, but she likes to think she's doing a pretty good job without an instructor.
After looking around the room for any signs of disapproval of sharing the information, Steve spoke up. "We'll be in Sokovia."
"Ohh. Well, when do you leave?"
Tony sighed before saying, "Right now, what's with all the questions?"
"Nothing really, just curious to see where my dad and his play mates are going to for a deadly mission." Evangeline drawled.
After the Quinjet was loaded and everyone said their goodbyes, Evangeline froze time long enough for her to write a note for Daphne and Mali and to sneak and hide on the aircraft.
Once she was situated and completely hidden from sight, she unfroze time. Making sure no one was confused about her absence, she went through everyone's minds to make it seem like she left for her room. "Have fun girls! Try to stay out of trouble and if you throw a party the limit is 500 people. If there's anymore, I'll have Jarvis notify me. Bye now!" Tony yelled before the door of the Quinjet shut.
Hidden behind a few luggages, Evangeline observed as the Avengers started to talk about the target. Something about Hydra....wait weren't those the people who attacked the airport where Steve saved me?
Soon, the conversation died down and everyone sat in silence. Bruce was in the corner listening to his, "calm" music is what he liked to call it. Natasha and Clint were cleaning their weapons talking about random things. Tony was flying the aircraft and Thor was talking to Steve. Curious to see what they were talking about, Evangeline strained her hearing until she finally could make out what they were saying.
"So," Thor started, "what is happening between you and Lady Evangeline?"
Chuckling nervously, Steve scratches the back of his neck, "Honestly, I have no idea where I'm going with this. She's really nice person, very pretty. A part of me wants to move on from Peggy and another portion is telling me otherwise. After that day where she and I talked about our lives and I told her all about Bucky and Peggy, she seemed so intrigued by the story, the way her eyes shined when I told her about everything. I know she understands how I feel it's just...I have no idea."
