--/Evangeline\--

Once Clint announced that he had a place that everyone could stay, he walked to the pilot's seat and prepared for take off. No one bothered to ask where they would go, everyone was more focused on relaxing and shaking off the nerves from the mission.

Steve sat down next Evangeline, "Who knew that Ultron hired new recruits. I never thought that he would have found out about the twins so quickly.."

At the mention of Pietro and his sister, Evangeline thought back to the words he spoke to her. He seemed almost.. jealous? Even if Pietro was jealous, that gave him no right to speak to her the way he had. She let out an uneasy laugh, "Yeah, I never expected them to be so...so cruel."

Steve gave her a questioning look, "Cruel? What gave you the impression of them being cruel?"

"It's nothing. I think I used the wrong word." She made up a quick lie.

"I don't think they're bad, they were just sucked into the wrong crowd. I have a feeling that the twins are more confused then evil. They don't know any better." Evangeline continued, thinking about how Pietro had saved her life. She hasn't figured him out yet but hopefully, she would eventually.

Steve told her in a firm voice, "It doesn't matter whether they're confused or not, they are working for Ultron so they're people we need to fight."

Evangeline flinched at his harsh tone and nodded curtly, "Fine then. You go on and have your opinions and I'll stick to mine." The look of Steve's face almost had Evangeline regret what she had told him. Almost.

Angry, Steve let out a laugh that lacked the usual playfulness, "You're kidding me right?!"

His outburst caught the attention of the rest of the Avengers, even Thor who seemed to be deep in thought. "Yo, Cap. You alright there?" Tony asked from his seat next to Clint.

Steve shook his head and replied sounding aggravated, "Evangeline...she thinks that the twins are good people. They are obviously not if they're working for Ultron!" He made his voice go into a higher, mocking voice, "They were probably sucked into the wrong crowd," he began to speak again with his normal voice, "What are you? A third grader?! I knew we shouldn't have taken her on this mission."

Evangeline bit her tongue every time Steve said something insulting to her, nearly causing it to bleed. No one spoke up, there was a good reason for it. No one had seen Steve this angry...especially at something like this. Evangeline had enough of his verbal torment and stood up, "Excuse you, I had permission from the rest of the team on this. So I would've went with you whether you like it or not, it was a unanimous vote. And speaking of, what is your important reasoning for me not coming along?"

"You are obviously a lot weaker than you let on. You're all talk. Plus, you can't even put up a good fight against one of the twins. You and your stupid hormones made you weak when you fought Pietro. Your mind is weak, making you a target. We would've been just fine on this mission without you."

This time, Clint stood up sending Steve a glare. "Watch it. She is just as valuable on this team as you. Ultron made that clear when he laid eyes on her. He was trying to convince her to join him. It's obvious that she is needed."

Steve laughed, "For what? Bait? Great idea, sir! Let's prance into the battlefield and throw her out saying that he stops his attacks and he gets Evangeline. Genius! Let's get started, let's track down Ultron and give him the girl for information."

The girl, now furious, held her hand in place, preventing herself from smacking him. What happened to the sweet and caring Steve? She was angry but unlike him, she didn't need to raise her voice to start a riot. She spoke under her breath but it was loud enough for all of them to hear in the tension filled silence, "Maybe I won't need convincing to join him."
